My Mom's meat loaf recipe and some vegetables. I probably wouldn't serve it to anybody else because it isn't the best looking meatloaf ever, but it's comfort food.

I've had a rack of beef ribs on the smoker since Noon. Making calabacitas and baked potatoes as sides. I'll probably eat at around 8. Can't wait!

I like Jethro's except for the Confederate decor. Food is always good, service is always friendly but... It makes me wonder what my experience would be if I had a bit more melanin.

Start with Tumamoc a couple times a week. It isn't really hiking, because it's paved, but it's a good workout and it's accessible. Start with Tumamoc a couple times a week. It isn't really hiking, because it's paved, but it's a good workout and it's accessible. Once that gets easier for you, branch out, but Tumamoc is a great place to get in shape for real hiking.

I obsessively watched Iowa football during the end of his tenure at ISU (I had a family member on the team), and I was very much less than impressed with Rhoads when they played. Maybe he's a better coordinator than head coach. We'll see.

Rollie's is really solid. I've always been a West Side guy, but now that I live and work on the South Side, I've really come to appreciate 12th Ave.

I'm going to Chef Alisah's tomorrow with some friends. I can't wait. It's my absolute favorite restaurant, and it's been way too long.

I like the red chili at Anita more, but St. Mary's is good. Definitely grab a pack of their tortillas, as they are the best in town. Their birria can be really good, but it's pretty hit and miss.

The sign was gone today, and the only vacant building in that area is the old Office Max. I hope it isn't real. I live near there and the last thing the neighborhood needs is an Office Max sized strip club.

Also, they have the best salad dressing in town. I wouldn't go to Caruso's for authentic Italian food, but it's really good for what it is.

I bought a Coronado National Forest annual pass and am planning on taking full advantage of it. I usually get way out of shape in the summer because it's too hot to walk Tumamoc, but my goal is to break that pattern this year.

Rocco's has really good sausage, but their pizza is usually too greasy for me. Plus, they cut it in squares, which I hate.

I've actively avoided Fry's since college when I bought a rotten chicken from the one on Hayden and McClintock, but the new store at Midvale and Valencia is pretty nice. I often stop there after work.
