2 Star. Lots of mid-major offers or Lower tier P5.

Like before. So late in recruiting cycle.

Devaughn Cooper was quietly slated to take an official visit to ASU this weekend. UA coaches found out about it and threatened to pull his scholi, so he canceled last minute. I heard Greg Byrne on radio past week, said he expected new DL hire real soon. Sounded like within days. Just a hectic time now so late in the cycle and now with so many commit spots to fill in week and a half.

Some which have more accomplishments than AZ. I doubt they are all doing bad evaluations and flipping AZ commits becau...

Hansen was around when Hunley here. Just started. Hunley was on team as Hansen first started in Tucson. I know Hansen is Crotchety (and wrong sometimes), but he's one of the few NON "homer" writers around still covering AZ. As some have noted (and my opinion), most of the coverage for AZ is by Homer...

I would expect RR to call new "Arizona Defense" something different but only a hybrid of the 3-3-5. Would be strong headwinds if he actually called it the same scheme. Tweak it, call it something new and innovative. I imagine that the DC pool for AZ limited because RR had already promoted Addae befo...

For those in the know, was RR a 3-3-5 guy before he connected with Casteel? No, he wasn't. No. But Rich Rod initiated implementing the 3-3-5 at WVU after his inaugural 2001 WV season (he fired 2001 WV DC). He took his coaches (CTG and Casteel) to other schools who ran various versions of it during ...

You really think Byrne is getting involved with the football program that deeply, telling RR what schemes he can and/or can't run? I would very highly doubt that. No. Year ago, he approved a big raise for Casteel. Defense in 2014 nearly as bad. Sure it was discussed, but hope he didn't dictate. He'...

I suspect these moves are for many reasons. Many. At the top is RR's own survival. The defense has been horrid since he arrived. I hope he can evaluate that, recognize that and adjust. It has been obvious. Give RR credit for making moves. But this as much for his own standing with the program. His o...

Modster was the top commit I hoped wouldn't decommit. Tate is a great athlete and there are reasons why many of the schools don't offer him as a QB.

I guess AZ's new DB's coach and AZ's best recruiter on staff couldn't keep Modster (some snark here).

Over the years, I try to limit comparing current AZ teams to past AZ teams. Schemes differ, styles differ, CFB landscape differs.
