I guess I'm just a local guy who thinks this is a home-run hire (or, perhaps I should say, home-run hires).

Exactly the kind of guy RichRod needed to target. The combo of Williams and Marcel Yates (still waiting) would quadruple Arizona's recruiting power in SoCal...

Williams is an "ace."

Not sure if that was hand-timed or electronic, but it goes back to his high school days, so my guess is that it was from some high school combine.

Dawkins has been taking second-string reps in practice behind Solomon. Will he play in New Mexico Bowl? If so, how much? Will it be a real battle in spring? QB coach Rod Smith: "Brandon probably gives us more completeness at quarterback." More about Dawkins and from Smith here ... TucsonNewsNow.com

Re: 33 Scooby Wright III

Yeah I can see him playing the bowl. By then he'll have had a good 3 months since the UCLA game to heal. Why play in the bowl? He has nothing to gain and won't be in game shape. His focus should be putting up ridiculous numbers at the combine and improving his draft stock. That's the thing. If the ...

Futhermore, does this sound like a dad who thought RichRod and the medical staff were playing fast and loose with his son?

He has 27 TFLs AFTER the game... and that record of 31.5 is held by Terrell Suggs, so Scooby can wipe a Devil out of the record book. Has two more games to do it (and, well, maybe three games, if you really want to be optimistic).

The All-Tucson team is only for the Pac-10/12 years (explained at the link ... where RichRod also talks about the state of Tucson recruiting, so check it out). Lots of good choices at punter.
