I went out to see soccer play at Utah Friday night. Gotta say, college soccer is pretty fun. I'm one of those people who mostly just watches soccer during the World Cup, but college soccer is a lot of fun. Very physical, substitution rules are completely different, so there's always lots of fresh players. Very fast paced game.

As for the game, we scored 19 seconds in, then again in the 5th and somewhere around the 15th. Lotta fun. We have a very aggressive style which really dominated Utah in the first half. Utah scored 2 late goals but we hung on to win. I'd definitely recommend getting out to a game if you can, it's fun and would probably be a pretty good activity with kids.

Also, this program is in really good shape. I talked to one player's mom a lot during the game (I was probably the only non-family UA spectator), and they really like the coaching staff and the program. A lot of the talented players are underclassmen, there appears to be a lot of parent buy in (based on how many fans we had, it would seem nearly every player's family was there).

Anyways, just a cool experience. I don't get to watch Arizona sports in person too much, so it was a fun night with soccer.

I hope Heeke gives Amato an extension before they lose him. If anyone has not been to a game, I recommend going. The UofA will most likely be hosting a game in the postseason and will most likely have a sellout.

Down 1-0 until the 74th minute, we put in two in a 6 minute stretch and are now defending the lead in the final few minutes.

Went to the game this week with my 3.5 daughter at UCI. Team looked good, we only last first half as first sporting event my daughter has attended as a fan and well toddlers are fun!

Nice to see the team in person

UCI is a good team. They lost to #12 USC 1-0 last week. It's crazy that the Cats lost 1-0 in their opener to Albany. Great job by Amato to get the team to forget about the Albany loss and beat UCI.

With a daughter really digging her U6 team and you guys on this thread sounds like another uofa team I should be following!

And they play at furd on 10/21!

Btw I took the fam to a rivercats baseball game last night (sac AAA team) and I asked my oldest (4yo) if she wanted to go to the play structure, “no daddy, I want to watch the baseball game”. We had lawn outfield and she spent the whole time watching the outfielders and pitchers in the bullpen.

I must be doing something right.

You should follow them! I went to a game last year and chatted with some parents. Sounds like one program that’s being run the right way. And the games are pretty exciting too.
