Former 'Cat Brad Mills traded for $1

Sure, Billy Beane is famous for his “moneyball” approach, but this seems a bit extreme. The A’s acquired Brewers pitcher Brad Mills today for one single, measly dollar.

He had an opt-out clause in his contract that allowed for Mills to leave the organization beginning June 15 if another team put him on its active 25-man roster.
The early word is that the A’s are moving Mills right into their starting rotation.
