Since this is a new forum, can we get a primer on posting pics, gifs, YouTubes etc? Thanks.

pretty much the same for pics and gifs. just click post reply or "full editor" on the quick reply area. there is an IMG button. i haven't tried youtube embedding yet. there's the quote button there too

edit: apparently a custom BBcode or something has to be added to allow youtube video embedding

Well, for example, I can't seem to get an avatar to work. I've gone on line and made some avatars the correct size and they've all been rejected.

yeah that happened to me too..i just put it in the signature instead.

The 6kb limit for avatars is ridiculous. This is not 1985 with 300kb dial up modems.

I'll see if I can adjust that.

I bet it was 300b acoustic couplers we had in 1985, not 300kb. That's when we had to put the phone handset on a bed for it. 56kb modems were actually extremely fast in comparison when they came out.

Anyway to turn off showing signatures?

Twitter embedding doesn't seem to work. Might be the same as the YouTube issue.

Yes, under display settings in the user profile.

Once we get this place really up and running, it would be great if the New Posts search button was featured on every page instead of having to go back to the Board Index to use that feature.

Click the youtube button on the reply page, then post just the simple embed code from your link between the tags. Like so:
