I hated almost every moment of every hobbit film.

And the only film to rival how often my family has quoted The Hudsucker Proxy is probably Tombstone.

Oddly enough Hudsucker Proxy is probably the only major Coen bros project I haven't watched. Saw Inside Llewyn Davis an Barton Fink recently though.

The familiar intimacy embodied in our use of Coen brothers quotes is something my wife and I exhibit almost daily. We couldn't imagine another 30 years without Norm and Margie.

Completely eliminate the profit margin in making junkie zombie slaves.

It's specifically her style of 'singing'. It is so musically insulting to my ears I can't stand it. And the speaks her nonsense lyrics like they are supposed to be something profound. The whole thing is fraud music. I agree tho JMJ, just about any song could be covered into something cool tho.

Haha, 1/4 is correct
Well, now I'm interested to know if you have the same 1. If so, I may have to remove it from the list as actually popular.

Once upon a time, I would have posted Brady>Manning, but I that one may have actually become more popular.

I had never heard of her. I went to a Local H concert and heard them play Team. Wasn't my favorite track, but it was new and the pulsating drums and rhythm guitar were a new sort of sound. I should have figured it was a cover. Local H does a bunch of high quality covers, from classics to modern pop.

My favorite is probably Shock The Monkey, but their cover Surrender is also great.

That's a pretty good hint. I don't how popular or unpopular this opinion is, but CCR is the most entertaining band of that era. There are more influential or creative bands, but in terms of just delivering consistently good music, CCR runs it.

John Fogerty was a perfectionist, and did not let the band use drugs or drink during recording sessions.

But a total prick, and never did make up with this bandmates, including his late brother Tom who was the original leader of the Golliwogs. For years Fogerty wouldn't play CCR songs in concert due to Zantt(sp?) of Fantasy Records getting royalties.

Great singles band, and cover band, and no one could do swamp rock like them, even though they were from Northern CA.

Used to have most of their albums, except that awful last one where John made the 2 remaining members write and sing their own songs, and he only would play rhythm guitar on them.

See CC Revisited last summer at the free show, and they "rocked CCR better than Forgerty does" and I agree.

CCR: Singles band
Zep: Album band

Ive become more of a fan of the Beatles over the years, but as for Rock N Roll, they were never close to the Stones.

Though I love John Lennon's lyrics and much of his catalog. But still not Rock.

This right here.
The thing about an impact you don't enjoy makes sense because you'd have to be of the time when the impact was made and felt.

Still, for me, on Abbey Road, there's this moment where the light mood switches to the sixth track, "I Want You (She's So Heavy)", and from that point through the final track, it's among the greatest sequences ever recorded. I'm in awe of that album. Totally transcends its context.

Nirvana took that crown later.

I mostly just eat Granola, which a splash of milk for wet texture is quite enjoyable. Vanilla Cinnamon Almond granola, slight toasted, splashed with cold milk. Texture, Temperature and Taste sensation.

Ben E King is better than all soul singers. I'd listen to him sing the alphabet.
Stand by Me might be the best song ever made.

Nirvana is so highly regarded, but grunge was the hair metal of the early 90's. Their lasting impact on music isn't much, but they get so much attention.

I am just not into Pink Floyd. Frankly, I find Limp Bizkit more listenable.

I'm sorry but you just said Limp Bizkit is more listenable than Pink Floyd? That's like saying shag avocado carpet is preferable to original refinished oak hardwood. You're sick sir.

Now that I'm late 30's, Linken Park has grown on me, on the off chance I hear it played on the rock station here. They freaking love Papa Roach though out of Vacaville, 45 min down the I80 from here.

I hate, HATED hearing that crap on at the UofA gym or coming out of frat row back in the day.

They're one of the most successful hip hop groups of all time. 40+ award nominations and 20+ wins. 25 million albums sold across a decade+. Okay if you don't like them, just say that. Acting like you're some authority for everyone else in the country with your make believe top500.
