Hard to imagine that AZ has had two HOF coach’s in their history and neither of them are named Tomey or Smith

I remember that show - though I didn't go. Same (or almost the same) year as Larry Bud Melman, yeah?

Probably. Did you go to that one? I don't think I did.

I think Judy's show was for an HBO special or something like that.

Nope. I had a classmate who did see Melman however (said it was lame). I never went to any comedy shows on campus but would regularly go to Laughs (sp?) on Broadway and saw Paula Poundstone (meh). I did see the Zappa show in '82 at Centennial Hall - when I was in high school. Hardly knew who Zappa was then and only later have begun to appreciate his contributions.

RIP Jim Kolbe. Congressional Rep for Southern Arizona's 5th and 8th districts passed away of a stroke this past weekend at age 80.

Oddly enough I would've never met Mr Kolbe had I not lived a few blocks from him during my few years in Washington DC. When he found out I was from Arizona and had just graduated UofArizona he invited me to a number of events he hosted. Always so thankful to bring along a bottle of wine or food for his dog Preta because he didn't have to be so welcoming.

The pressure in his chest that the doctors thought was bronchitis was likely his aortic valve leaking blood into his body. Not sure if they had diagnosed the heart issue if there would be anything they could do (and I definitely would not want to have open heart surgery in a foreign country), but I have to wonder if he could have been saved with a correct diagnosis.

My youth is rapidly dissipating. Deja Vu and 4 way street are classics.

CSN & CSNY are both on my playlist. I’m truly saddened.

There was a great documentary on David that anyone who was a fan should watch.

Pretty much wore out So Far, both sides too for those of us in the vinyl generation that would only put one side on. Deja Vu too for non-compilation albums.

Cros lived about 30 miles from me, although our paths never crossed. Was hoping he would perform at any of the many wineries around here but never did. Never heard of anyone ever running into him, unlike Michael Jackson who also lived in the Santa Ynez Valley and frequented the Toys'R'Us in the town I live in. McCauley Caulkin was one of his favorite guests. Did know a couple of boys that went to Neverland as part of a group, but don't think they met him. One of my sons would hang out by the Santa Maria courthouse during MJ's trial, but never saw him. One of my coworker's daughters would hang out at his gate.

I would definitely see it. Just wondering if he was just a much an asshole as everyone else in the band. He would blame the others for not performing with him, but when Graham Nash refused to tour with him again, sometimes you have to realize that maybe it's not all them, it's you. McGuinn wouldn't let him back in the Byrds either.

My fave Cros song:

4 Way Street is so, so good and definitely one of my all time favorites. Ironically, I heard somewhere that it was panned by the critics when it first came out.

When Petty died, I felt like my generation's rock star was gone. I feel like Crosby was a rock star for about 3 generations. I read his biography, Long Time Gone, a few years ago. I'm bummed.

My favorite CSNY song is Southrrn Cross, but by far my favorite of their albums was 4 Way Street.

I like most people follow regional teams, but that Oakland A's team was fantastic, just so much fun to follow and watch.

Besides their cool mustaches, especially since the Yankees couldn't have them.

Yankees can have mustaches (see Thurmon Munson, Don Mattingly, and Nestor Cortes), they just can’t have beards or hair below their collar, which is stupid.
