The older I get...

Post by CalStateTempe »

A thread for nostalgia, thoughts, improvements, wisdom, stories, things you wish you had known at the time, generally anything to celebrate getting older. To share with each other and to leave for the younger cats out there.

I'll start.

The older I get the more I like and appreciate the genius of Gunz and Roses.

The older I get the more I have moved from sitting to standing (yes, you know what I mean).

The older I get the better chef I have become.

I'll add more later, but I used to hate Guns and Roses when they were popular as "kiddy rock", but now I actually enjoy listening to their music.

The secret kept from the young is that nobody actually cares. Do what you want.

lol totally merkin. That's what prompted this thread. I was rocking out to GnR on the way in today when I realized I actually liked them, but when I was younger I thought they were totally lame.

And maybe they are and this just a sign I've reached middle age.

True LH, that is totally something i wish I knew/understood in high school and college.

That was a lesson I learned at my 20th high school reunion.

At my 10th, everyone was completely fake and awkward, trying to pretend they had all of life's answers. It was a horrible night/

10 years later, against my wishes, I was convinced to go to our 20th. It was amazing the transformation that took place with a majority of the people. Folks were just hanging out, no one was trying to 1 up each other, flaws were on display... it was a great night.

I graduated 13 years ago. Didn't go to my 10th reunion. Right now I would say no way I'd go to my 20th but who knows. Most people I knew in h.s. were mormon anyway. So I'm not sure how fun it would be.

Didn't go to 10 and will unlikely go to 20 unless someone can give me a really good reason.

high school sucked that bad for me that I have little shared experience with the population. Those that I want to keep in touch with, I do.

High school reunions. Well. The day I arrived on the campus of the University of Arizona, high school was dead to me. I'd like to keep honoring that.

... Nothing changes. College girls look just as hot as they did then, and the women my age... not so much!

I was talking to a buddy and this year is the 10 year high school reunion. I was told we weren't having one (not that I would go anyway). But, I thought everyone had a 10 year.

The old I get, the less I let stuff bother me. I have bills, career and saving for a house on my mind.

Never been to a h.s. reunion. I have enjoyed looking at photos, though. Damn those people are old.
Right where I want to be.

Made me think that I'm finally sleeping with a 50 year old woman.
