Thinking it was a bomb. Plane turned twice and dive sharply before disappearing. How does a bomb get on a plane at an airport like Paris, especially in the wake of the Brussels attacks? Help from the inside?

Egyptian security officials said they were running background checks on the passengers to see if any had links to extremists.

Don't they do that already? Isn't there an international no fly list?

I was thinking the same thing, inside job. Someone not on the jet stowed one in luggage.

B-52 lost, fortunately no loss of life:

A B-52 bomber has crashed shortly after take-off at a US base in Guam, the US Air Force says.
It says all seven crew members safely left the aircraft after the incident at 08:30 local time (22:30 GMT Wednesday) at Andersen Air Force Base.
The US Air Force told the BBC it was treating the incident as a "mishap".
The bomber was deployed to the US island territory from North Dakota as part of the military's continuous presence in the Pacific.
Local news site Kuam quoted the Guam governor's office as saying: "We assure the public this does not appear to be an attack."

Airport workers in Egypt or in France.

Weakest link in security and anti discrimination law in most western countries prohibit what you can do to address. Either someone plants something in Paris or if in Egypt, with a timed device set to go off on the return trip.

This Is a huge issue within the safety and preparedness literature.

Not too belittle the deaths, they are extremely tragic, but you thought the TSA lines were long yesterday...

Out of Tucson? That's never nessasary. 10 minutes before boarding time is usually good enough!

I'm flying out of phx next week... There I may need to get there 2 hours early

Nope Phoenix. Tucson is a piece of cake.

a few years ago I got an email from the airline at 2:30 pm saying I could switch my Tucson to Denver flight from the next morning to that afternoon for $25. The flight departed at 4:20. I managed to shower, pack, drive to the airport (live 25 mins away), take the shuttle, get a boarding pass, go through security and grab something to eat and be sitting at the gate by 3:45.

Seems more like an onboard fire that burned out the avionics bay than terrorism.

Donald Trump wasn't going to wait to see what the facts said. He already pegged this as terrorism and used it as a political fodder immediately.

http://www.cnn.com/2016/05/19/politics/ ... terrorism/

Donald Trump blamed terrorism for the EgyptAir Flight 804 crash in a tweet posted early Thursday morning, even though authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash.

"Looks like yet another terrorist attack. Airplane departed from Paris. When will we get tough, smart and vigilant? Great hate and sickness!" the presumptive GOP nominee tweeted at about 6:30 a.m. ET.

What's funny is that in a pre-Trump world anyone would be chastised for both immediately jumping to conclusions and using them for political purposes. But the media has seen the viewership numbers and instead they're like, "Thank you sir, may we have another?"

Trump has to feel he wins either way. He jumps in early and claims that somehow Obama/Clinton are responsible for this by being too soft on terrorism. If he is correct, he looks strong. If he is wrong, oh well, he was making a good show of being strong.

You almost have to feel that any terror attack on the US that succeeds in the next few months might get Mr. Blowhard elected.

Those people were still pretty close. Don't you think they would get them far away in case it explodes. I mean those wings are full of fuel right

Cuba’s state-run television reports that a Boeing 737 Cubana de Aviacion flight crashed as it took off from Havana’s Jose Marti airport.

An airport source tells CNN’s Patrick Oppmann that there are casualties. It is unclear how many passengers were on board and/or if there are fatalities.

SeaTac: plane is stolen from Seattle airport and crashed

Apparently an employee stole a plane from SeaTac and took off and was intercepted by F15s and then promptly nose dived the plane into the ground.

Other info saying it was a mechanic that stole it and was possibly suicidal and was like doing loops or stunts around Puget sound before crashing.
