Went from no snow at all to snow two nights in a row and potentially 6-10” this weekend. Hope my snowthrower still works. Haven’t checked in on it since March.

My house is cold. I'm wearing pajamas over a union suit, and the heat is on 70. I'm still cold.

Yesterday we came back from 2 days in T-town having left our heat off. It was 57 in the condo (second floor of a 2-floor masonry building) and after an hour of running, the furnace decided it needed a protracted coffee break. I read up on the labor laws and asked it to return to work only after meeting with the union boss. Everything's fine now. I could blame it on socialism and nanny-state pandemic devilry, or maybe my furnace is a Zoomer who just went to bitch to HR for an hour.

By Sunday in Tucson it will have been like 10 days straight of highs between 50-60 and like 5 days with rain. Depths of winter here for sure. Mt Lemmon is supposed to get 1-2 feet of snow by midday Saturday

30 degrees in DC with a bunch of snow coming down, looks like 5 inches or so.

As a former west coaster for 30 yrs, this of course is insane to my eyes

Since DC is a city that usually shuts all the way down when they get 2+ inches, I’d say enjoy the day off from having to go anywhere.

I was in DC almost for 5 days 7 years ago in late February. It was in the 10s-30s the entire time with 6-12 inches of snow. It was wild considering how late in the winter it was.

Sounds about right. I'm only 4 months in but I've met a couple folks who work for the government and still go into the office. They all had the day off and I think many schools were closed. The company i work for recognized today as a holiday which is weird so I had the day off anyway. I did take a gander to the national mall, the monuments looked great with the snow.

What's more bizarre is it was 65 on Christmas (warmer than Arizona) and 62 just yesterday.

Where my daughter lives. They closed where her husband works Friday so he will be home.

My daughter says the stores are completely wiped out. They are expecting power outages, but many homes have generators due to hurricanes.

Of course that doesn’t stop the dog from needing three walks…

Cooling down to 79 today!

Santa Maria set new daily heat records Wednesday and Thursday and could again on Friday, according to the National Weather Service Los Angeles Office.

The Santa Maria Airport monitoring station hit 82 degrees Thursday which beat the previous record of 80 degrees in 1971.

Just got home from stunning weather in Carpinteria. First two days not a breath of wind. Redolent of floral perfume. Ate so much octopus I almost got ill.

That means routing all the I5 traffic to the 101. Better take the surface streets today.

CHP just closed I-5 at the Grapevine for snow. Expect heavier car and truck traffic on the 101 and 166 highways today as they look for ways to get around the Grapevine to get between northern and southern Cali. So be careful out there on the freeways.
