Still no snow here.

And no snow in upper Wisconsin where I’m supposed to go snowmobiling in a few weeks so that’s fucking fantastic.

Just barely missed me. Was out and about in downtown today and it hovered at 37-38 degrees with rain. Shucks

We received 8" of snow Sunday. On Tuesday night, into Wednesday we are expected to get 4" of snow and then 2" of rain. Plus, wind gusts of up to 60 mph. First, that means the river close to me is going to flood again. No doubt about that. There are businesses who temporarily closed, or went out of business that still don't have power. They will be flooded again.

For me, losing electricity is far more important. I don't mind the snow. I don't mind the cold. I HATE the wind. I am hoping the winds won't be so strong and that during the last storm, the weak limbs fell. I think I may go without power is high. I expect a couple of days and will be better prepared. It sucks.

Finally a bloody snow storm.

The snowmobile trail groomers will finally start having to buy fuel!!

Chi, why don't you come to Big bay to go snowmobiling. We are finally getting snow, but I guess Wisconsin is now as well. When nobody has snow, we have snow. I mean except now, but we will soon. The groomers will be out later this week.

I got a buddy back east. He was going to do some sledding in the UP. Maybe it’s not too late for him to make it.

I’d be down, but the guy who organized the trip is most familiar with the Eagle River/St. Germain area. All of our reservations (sleds & hotel) were made months ago, so I can only imagine that there’s nothing available in the UP.

There we go, 16" snow overnight on the deck , 8 more coming today really windy so patches of drift and patches of thin areas. Probly closer to a foot overall.
Bout freaking time! I'm below normal about 10,000 gallons of fuel sold for December and January due to lack of snow.

We’ve had one cold spell and one snowstorm. That’s it. Usually by now there are feet of snow on the ground but there’s nothing.

It spit a little snow today and I was genuinely surprised until I reminded myself it was mid-February.

This is the AUSTRALIAN Bureau of Meteorolgy (BoM)

Exclusive: Plibersek intervenes after BoM executives lie to court
The handling of an unfair dismissal case has again exposed concern about the running of the Bureau of Meteorology, which continues to fail its international obligations and miss other targets. By Rick Morton.

Two of the most senior executives at the Bureau of Meteorology have been castigated for giving evidence to a Federal Circuit Court judge that was false and unreliable in a “deliberate attempt to mislead the court”, prompting the intervention of Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek.

Maine is just about to get hit with one of the strongest winter storms, for April, in history. Augusta is supposed to get 12-18" of wet heavy snow starting Wednesday, and ending on Saturday. It is a classic Nor'easter. Power outages are a strong possibility again, as the heavy snow, and wind gusts up to 40 mph will bring down tree branches, that will fall on power lines. The worst part will start after sundown on Wednesday through Thursday.

A week ago we had 6" of this heavy snow, and I found my AWD Subaru Legacy drove like a champ through this quicksand snow. I pull into Circle K after work, and the parking lot hadn't been plowed yet. I saw many SUVs stuck, and my Subaru was able to drove though the snow. That is why so many people own Subarus in my area. I am on vacation this week and get to stay home while the snow falls. I just hope we don't lose electricity. Unlike in December, when I lost electricity for 4 days, I won't be able to drive anywhere, until the snow is plowed, and parking lots are cleared.

For the last couple of days many states in the upper south have been getting tornadoes. Now, the Ohio Valley has multiple tornado warnings. This is going to travel NE. This is the same Nor'easter that is going to hit Maine.

Early May is usually the peak of the spring tornado season. So maybe a few weeks early. But everything here is two weeks early. We didn’t get a winter and then everything started blooming in late March.

Really? If you look at deadliest tornado outbreaks in the US, most are in March/April/May; 1974 and 2011 featuring the biggest outbreaks in history both occurring in April of those years.
