Down 17 going into the 4th quarter at Utah, Suns win by 6.

They have the best home court record as well.

So are we rooting for the Pelicans tonight? Clippers played the Suns tough last year even without Kawhi. (Of course Patrick Beverly is gone)

For sure. Clippers are too good for the Pelicans even without George. With George, they can obviously cause the Suns a ton of pain.

And there were rumors Leonard wasn't so far from returning for the playoffs. Would've been a whammy of a first round matchup for the Suns.

I'm also glad the Wolves are out. Did not want to see what a vengeful PatBev had more in store for the Suns.

Glad it's the Pelicans.

So glad the Suns won't have to face Memphis and GS. Hope the Suns can breeze through NO, take care of Utah/Dallas in 6 games or less, and sit back and rest while the Grizzlies and the Warriors go 7 games.

Are the Warriors at full strength? Who is going to give the Suns a challenge? I haven't been following the NBA this year. Seems the Suns are a step or 2 above every body else. And fuck the Heat!

He played great and the suns were controlling the game playing through him. In the 3rd we went away from that and thats how they got back in the game. Settled for to many jumpers instead of what we did to build the double digit lead.

Luckily for us the Point God dominated the 4th quarter and our defense showed up when we needed it. Ayton, Paul, and Bridges were excellent last night. We need more from Payne.

Loved when Monty went to the zone 3/4 court trap. Really through the pelicans off at the end of the 2nd quarter.

It's hard to gain momentum in a game when you can neither shoot nor defend. They're letting the protracted team slump from range affect their effort in other areas. And the unbalanced foul calls are taking them out of their defense entirely. The officials are rewarding the aggressor, not the team who withstands the punch and then changes the momentum. In turn, you can't change the momentum if you can't hit a shot and get fouled for defending.

Monty called out the disparity. That will help. But the Suns need to come out at as the aggressor from the tip. No other role will work with this series.

I'm lost as to what has taken him out of this series. This is one of the baffling items that, if not for this alone, the series would be completely different.

Let the basketball gods take out the Suns' best player and MVP caliber force, sure. But on top of that, your supposedly starter-quality backup who replaces him is playing like a below-average backup? And so you're forced instead to rely on what's basically an NBA discard in Landry Shamet?

If the Suns flame out early, and everything I and everyone else said about the trajectory of Cam Johnson's career is unfounded. Jones would probably have to protect all their 5's but otherwise blow up this roster and try to build anew around Booker and Bridges (and ride out Paul).

After the game, didn't he shout at Willie Green, "I'm baaa-aaack!"? If so, and it's true, what ever happened to keeping 'em guessing? Or is it so brazen that it keeps 'em guessing anyway?

He looked pretty spry running out onto the court to argue with a ref about a foul on Ayton. I had to look up what his injury was because he looked fine to me.
