So they looked really good in person. Like, impressively good.

And I do understand that a Zion-less Pelicans team isn’t the best barometer, but they kicked the shit out of them which is what good teams should do against bad teams.

Zach Lavine was fantastic, as was DeMar DeRozan. Lonzo Ball had a quiet triple double, and Vucevic was a force inside. Patrick Williams was totally solid and Alex Caruso played the TJ McConnell role.

I’d be willing to bet that as long as they stay healthy, they’ll be at the top of the standings all year round, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Lavine get MVP consideration.

Got out-rebounded by 20(!!) on the road and still won.

They won with defense and foul shooting which is pretty much a novelty lately with this franchise. DeMar DeRozan is a total difference-maker. He just knows how to win.

6-1 best record in the league. But their 2nd year starting PF Patrick Williams is out for the season.

Lost 2 in a row to Philly and came back tonight to kick the shit out of the Nets. They outscored them like 42-17 in the 4th and it was a total team effort. Great win.

Bulls forced to forfeit a 2nd round pick due to "tampering" with the acquisition of Lonzo Ball.

To me the NBA seems a bit unrealistic about enforcing its tampering rules; I don't think they've been pleased with how flagrantly tampering had become but given how high profile NBA free agency is some level of tampering will be inevitable.

Two big wins in NY and they have the second best record in the East.

So Allen was on the end of a flagrant foul from one of the Bulls. He was moving to the hoop on the baseline and the Bull gave him a nice hip check and a bow to the head. Hope the league doesn’t fine him as he needs to receive a bonus for his action
