Heard a few interesting bits of trivia today. Fitzpatrick has been named the Fins starter. He becomes the 20th starter for Miami since Marino retired. Fitzpatrick also played in 64 snaps in the preseason, the most among starting QBs. Murray was 2nd at 60 snaps.

So the question is: would you suspend Antonio Brown?

Apparently if he is suspended game 1, his entire $30M salary can be not paid (basically suspending him for the year).

But apparently if you let him play game 1, his $30M salary then kicks in (seemingly even if you suspend him later he gets paid; not sure of the nuance here.

For me: I suspend and write him off as a total loss. It was a gamble, perhaps a good one, but this one isn’t paying off in the end. But too easy to imagine you not suspending him, guaranteeing $39M and then you have to suspend in week two or three or whatever.

I heard today he's playing Sunday after apologizing to the team.

You know that some team will sign him within like 3 days. Too good of a talent to not take the risk. The only thing for him is that yeah, he'll get immediately snatched up by a team, but no team will give him the kind of money he was offered by the Raiders.

Someone will take him. It will be interesting to see the dollar value and the number of character clauses.

And the Patriots pick AB up for $15 million including a $9 million signing bonus. I figured that's the only team that could use him correctly. This is a total Bellichick move. The Steelers were trying to avoid AB ending up with the Patriots from the beginning. Total failure for the Steelers

Haha only took a few hours. I'm sure AB will be perfectly sane and normal there and will catch like 14 TDS this year and lead the pats to a super bowl.

They aren't though. There was a brief ratings dip in 2017 but then it went right back and grew even larger than before in 2018.

Sucks about Foles breaking his collarbone. He's gonna be out for a while.
