This system is money for QB's. If I'm Foles, I'm signing for whatever Kelly wants to offer

But the point of the system (at least I think this is the point of the system) is to run something that can be successful and doesn't require a $10M+ a year QB to run it. I've talked before about how I think this is a smart thing to do in today's NFL; basically run a read/option system where you draft a 22 year old kid to run it for the four years of his rookie contract at $1M to $3M a year and once he's done with his rookie contract and wants $10M+ a year, you just don't resign him but instead draft some other 22 year old kid to run the system. Build your team around that (6'1" 210lb no name inexpensive WR that are good blockers and will catch a ball when they're wide open, which is what read/option creates for their WR, etc etc) and I think you could be really successful.

But the entire point is to not pay your QB and to not be beholden to drafting and taking three years to develop a drop back passer type QB. So does Philly want to keep Nic? Sure. If he wants to stay around for $4M a year. If Nic isn't interested (and he shouldn't be at that price), Philly moves onto the next guy.

To thank their fans for helping them get one million Twitter followers before any other NFL team, the New England Patriots opted to give out custom avatars for anyone who retweeted this stupid tweet:

Roger Goodell is such a fuckin' joke of a commissioner and coward.

I'm completely fine taking a hard stance on Peterson, but doing it like this, to such an extent, less than six months after you gave Rice 2 games for knocking his fiancé clean out is so disingenuous, ballsy, and hypocritical, more over, it thumbs its nose at the new legal process of punishment where Goodell's lack of judgment isn't the final word, shouting a loud "Fuck You" to the aribitrator.

Goodell's own new "standard" was 6 games. He's already been out 9. Do how is a minimum of 6 more legal?

Goodell sucks as much as Peterson.

Just to send a fuck you back at Goodell, I'd love to see the arbitrators ruling void any and all future attempts to punish Peterson based upon clear cut evidence of Goodell not having the necessary judgment, consistent track record, and understanding of situational awareness.

Let the Vikings punish him more, if they deem it.

Goodell just over-extended his reach after swearing on live TV he'd be letting other, smarter entities to hear, ponder, and determine thus type of punishment going forward.

I wish the Bears could play the worst teams in the league every week.
It's long past time to bring this back to the court, let's do it with a small update:

I apologize for my ignorance, having been completely out of the USA sports/NFL loop since 2007, but what about Calvin Johnson breaking 10,000 yards in 115 games? I haven't actually seen this guy play, is he really looking like the greatest receiver ever in the NFL?

The rules about how and when you can touch a WR and QB are so favorable to the offense now that I don't know that you can really measure one era against another.

Bears attendance 50,247.
No-shows 10,749.

100+million dollar qb 3ints.
Coach clueless, running ball down 2 scores with 4 minutes to go.

sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

So they're going to pay him all that money to suck giant donkey balls on the sideline?

Giving him that contract is the dumbest thing the Bears have done since giving The Fridge a Super Bowl TD carry instead of Walter Payton.

I don't think so, well at least not beyond this season. There's no way the bears will just eat all that money. Cutler is back as the starter after this season is over, no matter who the coach will be next year.

Bears fire Trestman and GM Emery. One of my relatives in Chicago posted something that they might be hiring Shanahan?

Falcons fire Mike Smith.

Good, they needed to go.

Unfortunately, the Bears have failed to go far enough with the firings. As usual, they make a blunder and keep ted phillips around. I don't know what pictures he has of george mccaskey but for some reason ted phillips is the teflon man and all the shit he's put the bears through just won't leave a stink on him, as far as the mccaskeys are concerned.

Sigh.....
