Difference between baseball and being a QB in the NFL.

Would you want to take 17+ more games of getting pounded?

If my kid was a QB type, I’d definitely push him towards baseball. The contracts, longevity, and relative lack of serious head injuries makes it a no-brainer.

If my kid was a QB type I'd be questioning if I was really his father.

Always makes me think of Kirk Gibson. Could have had a NFL career, but wisely chose baseball, and even then he couldn't not stop getting injured.

When they said during the UA basketball game that Brady is going to announce on Monday, I told my wife it's too late, it's already out.

I'm psyched for the Rams, and I guess I'm happy for the Bengals for breaking through. But mostly I'm excited for the Superbowl to be done with so that sports radio will be listenable again and start talking about college basketball and NBA.

The lack of opportunities, and lack of patience for coaches of color is painfully obvious. Good for him.

Surprised he lasted that long with that record.

Jackson, who took the lead role in Cleveland in 2016, departed just over two years later with a record of 3-36-1 that included an 0-16 season in 2017.

More like this, taken shamelessly from reddit:

It's not like the Coach goes into the meeting room and tells the players "Hey guys, we're going to drop this one today, so make it look good and have some fun, but don't take the lead at any point just in case."

It's more like it gets to mid November, and the team you thought was rebuilding is just falling apart and you are eliminated from the playoffs around Thanksgiving, so the owner and the GM have a chat, and they decide the best thing for the team moving forward is the highest possible draft pick.

They put guys on IR a little quicker than they might have otherwise.

They pressure the coach to play development players over vets.

They don't spend any more cap room on bringing in late season additions.

They basically send the message between the lines that the season is over, without saying it explicitly, and even if no one goes out to lose on purpose it certainly helps kill morale which can also contribute to losing.

Like to see the person he assaulted, and what provoked the incident.

Anyone with guns like this I would tend to avoid in a bar.
