True...but people don't want the nfl to fall. They love the nfl and the game and it's too big for that. Just Goodell falling will satiate the masses.
i was going to put the ua/asu records here...but i forgot what they were.

Bruschi for commissioner!
"As long as Roger Goodell is leading the NFL and he's the face behind the shield, you will have the same emotions you had today watching this press conference -- listening to him speak in circles, wondering, 'Man, what is this guy talking about?'" Bruschi said.

"So, as you continue to move forward and Roger Goodell is the commissioner, you will continue to feel that way every time you see him. In my personal opinion, being a former player that spent 13 years in this league trying to do the right thing, I want a new commissioner to lead my league.

"I want a new commissioner to go out there and say the right things and be that leader because right now Roger Goodell is not that and I don't think he can ever be that. Roger Goodell needs to step down and move on. The big reset needs to be pushed on the entire NFL right now and it starts by Roger Goodell stepping down."

If Roger was smart, he'd bust Aaron Hernandez out to make a few witnesses disappear.

Goodell is really reaching staggering levels right now. You could almost convince me he's in cahoots with Adam Silver to make the NBA the most popular league on earth. He really begs the Simmons question: incompetent or actively doing this?

Schlereth and Bruschi on Goodell. If they speak for ex-players Roger is in big trouble.

Players / ex-players opinions mean nothing.

It's all about owners and sponsors. Follow the money...

I heard Goodell say he believes he has the support of the owners. I didn't hear him say the same about the players or fans, nor do I think he cares.
Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?

I remember when there was nothing greater than boxing and title fights. Wasn't that long ago. I haven't seen a boxing match in a decade, and I actually did boxing in iunior high, so I was a real fan.

NFL isn't immune. Combination of controversy + arrogance x pricing = a steep decline. Fantasy Football has the NFL as King, but legislating out of fun, game violence, and now losing trust, factor in high cost (average cost for family of 4 for single game is $650) and if the status quo is maintained, give another 10 years before the sports fans gravitate to other sports and violence fans abandon for UFC.

Goodell and owners should care.

Everything is cyclical.

And that will be the death knell for the American Century, if there ever was one.

Probably right around the 100th year anniversary of pro football to boot. Talk about your cycles ending.

Sorry Papa Bear Halas. Not paying almost $700 for my family to see this crap.

It would have been 2 weeks if he'd punched his wife out during.

It shocks me ESPN would publish the otl report that directly contradicts what Goodell has publicly stated, then get bent out of shape when Simmons calls Goodell a liar. The OTL report says he lied, just not directly.

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. -- The video of Ray Rice punching his fiancee inside a casino elevator was sent to NFL headquarters to the attention of league security chief Jeffrey Miller in April, a law enforcement official says.

The NFL has repeatedly said no one with the league saw the violent images until TMZ Sports released the video earlier this month. Miller said Thursday through an NFL spokesman that he never received the video.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he wasn't authorized to release details of the case, said he doesn't know if Miller ever saw the DVD or opened the package. His only communication with the NFL was a 12-second voicemail on April 9 from league offices confirming receipt of the package, in which a woman says, "You're right. It's terrible."

If Roger Goodell was a NFL player, he'd have picked up at least a 8 game suspension by now.

A total fucking piece of shit.

Also the former executive director of the South Carolina GOP.
AAAAANNNNNNNDDDDDDDDDDDD . . . . .

Arrested on domestic violence charges.

The former South Carolina Republican Party official accused last month of refusing to let his wife out of his car was arrested on suspicion of criminal domestic violence on Monday, according to WIS-TV.

Todd Kincannon, an attorney who served as the executive director of the South Carolina Republican Party in 2010, allegedly got into an argument with his wife after a work function on March 26, after which he allegedly would not allow his wife to leave his car, according to a police report.

Ashely Suzanne Griffith, Kincannon's wife, told police that when her husband grabbed her to keep her from leaving the car, she hit him in the arm multiple times. Griffith told police that Kincannon also threatened to kill himself if she left the car. Kincannon denied that he grabbed his wife or that he threatened to kill himself, according to police.

Kincannon was not charged at the time, and later told the Charleston City Paper that he had taken the wrong dosage of Benzonatate, a cough medicine.

"Basically, I went completely crazy after taking it," he said. "I don’t even remember all of it. My wife called 911 because she was worried about me and my behavior was way out of character and erratic, and she was afraid for her safety and mine."

According to WIS-TV, the arrest warrant for Kincannon shows that he was arrested for the March 26 altercation with his wife in his car.

Kincannon has a history of making controversial comments on social media. In 2011, he called Senate Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) a "crabby cunt." He also suggested on Twitter last year that anyone who tests positive for Ebola be executed.
