Winning on the road in the Pac this year has been very, very hard, even for teams at the top of the standings.

Yeah. I don't think UCLA's getting in without a win tonight or next week vs. Oregon.

Splitting the remaining games gets ucla the 8 seed and Stanford on a neutral court before likely Oregon in the tournament

Schilling was yelling at bryce for not playing defense and bryce blew him off by yelling "what what what". Cal booed when Alford brought Bryce out of the game.

Ouch

UCLA needs to win out now. 17-14 going into the tournament isnt going to get it done without some more giant killing or actually winning the thing.

Agreed though even if they win out, I don't see them making it. One thing is for certain though......this should be one of the most exciting years in recent memory for the P12 Tournament!

If UCLA finishes 6-1 and 21-14 on a win streak with wins over Oregon and likely another win or two over Arizona/Oregon/Utah they are probably in.

Good old RC97 jinx. Ucla has the ability to play with anyone, just not the coaching. Holiday with three fouls won't help though and they could blow it here in the second

Maybe "then somehow get it to Bryce" isn't a winning coaching philosophy.
Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?

I can only imagine the amount of picks Alford will use the NBA talent to set next year, just to showcase Bryce. Alford has already mentioned that's how he was used at Indiana and wants to do the same with Bryce. So that's what will happen next year. And we'll underachieve next year because we'll lose Holiday and keep Bryce and on defense, we'll play the season 5-4 on the courts

I'm touched that you think so much of me by calling my efforts of an epic nature. I didn't realize you were so big of a fan that you've kept tabs on every post and made the effort to respond to each one. I suppose you and RC97 were made for each other, though I do appreciate you not always resulting into asinine name calling for the sake of attention. But I really spend no more than a moment thinking about my posts but I am sorry they do cause you so much stress. Perhaps a ban poll is in order or are you not willing to back up your hyperbole with any substance?

I'd settle for a few of my "epic" troll posts. It shouldn't be hard since they seem to be frequently and memorable

Hilarious bar for UCLA.

"Ok here's the deal; after going 15-15 after that if you then lose to Oregon state at Pauley and then lose to the 9/10th ranked team in the conference at a neutral site, then you go.

I mean honestly, that sums up the farce that is UCLA basketball pretty well.

Just another day in the inner workings of the UCLA AD. And like with Alford, DG wouldn't be the point guy on the hire. Mark Harlan made the Alford hire and DG signed off on it.

I should clarify that I meant I dont think UCLA loses their next two games. They will probably go 2-1, though if that second loss is to USC then..

I'm so happy Alford is the HC at UCLA....with all the talent that easily falls into their laps no matter who's the HC, God forbid they actually hire a good coach.....that would be scary.

Will be fun to watch them under-perform with their Monster class coming in.....wonder who's going to defect / early NBA jump prior to next year? Ideas Mr. Bug?

With a competent coach, UCLA is a Final Four program year in and year out. But we make terrible hires it seems and we suffer some unfortunate cycles. Perhaps Alford can coach but we caught him with a son who is a good offensive player but the worst defensive player in some time and he's essentially being showcased.

As for players, I'd assume we just cut bait on that JC kid, I bet Ali transfers, wouldn't surprise me if holiday is tired of this Alford nonsense and just declares. Iham and Bolden might also just decide to go play in Europe. Keeping Ali and Holiday is key for a healthy program because you don't have good program foundations. You have a bunch of 5* who could bail at anytime and role players who aren't really PAC-12 players.

I'm also a lot less feisty when we aren't as good.
