From what I recall of that letter I hope he was not an English major.

PS - A friend just texted me that PGU is claiming Lee to UA a done deal. If they prove to be right I suppose it is bye-bye Stanley.

That settles it then. Time to buy my Maryland "Lee" jersey.

Someone told me today that Stan has been trying to get Lee to come play with him next year. He thinks by coming back he can get in the top 3 in the draft.

Hard to envision a kid turning down lottery money but this person also told me Mcknight, his high school coach told him he should stay another year and develope more

Think for a moment about the sheer stupidity of that. The upcoming weekend visit to Arizona, as opposed to the Monday-Wednesday visit to Louisville, reflects the usual pattern of which program leads. Everybody has this information. But this separate notion of a "done deal" as of Monday is hedging against the obvious and the likely. Well done, PGU!

Yep, like Longhorned said, it just makes no sense. I guess many of us are just hoping.

I'd prefer tollefsen for bench depth...and Johnson returning..

If we don't get rabb or tollefsen we will be mighty thin at the post positions.

Kind of both. I don't think the coaches have any confidence Stan is coming back and they seem to be leaning toward Lee. Personally I want post depth, but they must like what they have in Anderson, Zeus, Ristic, and Comanche and covet scoring from the SF.

Anderson, Zeus, Ristic, Commanche, and Ray Smith in a pinch is plenty of post depth. Give me the scorer over the maybe rotation player.

The coaches must feel good about our ability to defend with a smaller lineup.

Will Lee play over York, Trier and Allen though?

Are you kidding, this guy dominated last year at Drexel.

He would start at Arizona and anywhere else next season.

Like last year? Starting lineup is still likely pretty damn big outside of the point guard spot.

He'd play predominantly over Smith if not the other 3 I imagine. This guy is more proven at this level of basketball than any of the 3 you named.

If Sean Miller takes Lee over Tollefsen, it's because he doesn't think so.

Anderson, small ball, big ball

He dropped 32 on USC. A lineup of 7-0, 6-9, 6-6 is not small. He's not departing unless he's starting.

Then he's not coming here. I don't think there is a scenario where he starts.

He's a three while all of them can and will play the two. Here would be the rotation:

PG - PJC, Simon, York
SG - York, Trier, Allen, Pitts, Simon
SF - Lee, Trier, Smith, Allen, Pitts
PF - Anderson, Ristic, Smith, Comanche
C - Zeus, Ristic, Comanche

If I'm Elliott Pitts, I'm looking around who has schollies open now and a starting role available in '16/17. But for all I know he's ready to stick it out and compete.

Yeah if I was Pitts or Allen I'd be transferring and if I was Smith I'd decommit if Lee comes. But that's just me.

Pitts really trailed off end of season. Last 13 games he had 12 games with zero or 1 3 pointers. In those same 13 games York had 1 game with zero or 1 3 pointers, and had 10 of those games with 3 or more.

He has been watching Allen practice all season too, and sees a tremendous player in Trier coming in.

Like Zane Johnson said, he didn't want to spend his senior year end of the bench.

Allen isn't going to sit out another year to play one. And there's no way Smith decommits after the way the coaching staff supported him right after his injury and through his rehab.

Pitts i think would see his minutes decrease. If he's cool with that, that's fine. We've got the scholarships. If not, I totally understand.

Why would Ray Smith decommit? He's coming off an ACL injury, and Lee would only be here for one year.

If you were Smith you'd be one of the top 25 high school players in the country. I'm glad Smith isn't as egotistical and insecure as you seem to be, because it's an awkward combination.

The things that need to happen:

- Lee visits Arizona this weekend
- Lee visits Louisville Monday-Wednesday
- Stanley Johnson announces decision to enter NBA draft
- Arizona offers Lee, and Lee chooses between offers from Arizona and Louisville

Kind of reminds you of:

- TJ visits Arizona over the weekend
- TJ takes weekday visit to Purdue
- Josiah Turner announces decision not to return to Arizona
- Arizona offers TJ, and TJ chooses between offers from Arizona and Purdue

... as if there were any doubt that TJ was going to wind up at Arizona. We can do the same thing with Mark Lyons. You never know until it happens and things could change, but probably not.

Wasn't Virginia the school that TJ chose us over? I don't remember reading that Purdue was involved when it happened.

How is it that Kentucky can be 4-5 deep with one-year players and we can't handle competition at any spot... Need to channel some Pete Carroll with the culture of competition at every spot. Iron sharpens iron. Man up.
