Yes. The New York Times article linked over on the phog, says that the letter sent to the NCAA was basically ignored until it went to the media and Self talked about the details of the "investigation" on air. The next day, the NCAA contacted the University. This is how they've operated for years and hopefully college programs don't put up with this going forward and call the NCAA out publicly going forward.

That's like saying UA is scared of playing NAU. Like Self said, WSU has never called to ask for a game.

Um.....no it's not. Not even close. Wichita State is a legitimate mid-major program. How long they can sustain their success is anyone's guess. Gonzaga started out this way as well 16 years ago. Oh gee, Arizona plays them next week!

WSU needs KU more than KU needs Wichita State. We get it. I can't knock KU's OOC scheduling because they usually play tough opponents. But it is funny that your in-state little brother is calling you out though.

We play nau almost every year. And they are nowhere near as good of a program as wsu.

Their fans are and even Marshall is disrespectful towards KU, but they ended the series and Marshall/WSU has never contacted KU about setting up a game. Why should KU pick up the call and set up a game that is of no benefit to the program.

Didn't know you played NAU all the time.

Sounds like you're a sensitive KU fan if everyone in the Sunflower state doesn't bow down to Jayhawk hoops. I understand the reasoning of not gaining anything by playing WSU. Arizona had the same issue with New Mexico under Lute, especially with shiity officiating at the Pit every time we played there. Wasn't worth it.

But Miller has been more than happy to take on regional-like rivals with home & homes such as UNLV, SDSU, UTEP, NMSU and Gonzaga.

Gonzaga's ball movement is a thing of beauty but they got out of it. Their man to man is a joke and we should be able to eat them up with penetration. They have gone to zone too, not great, but we will see more of it than UConn is seeing. They bout to blow this 20 point lead to Uconn though. Sabonis apparently has been struggling w foul trouble all year w the new rules.

Edit: Uconn got it even and completely crumbled inside of two minutes. Id be feeling pretty good about a Gonzaga matchup if last night never happened

Entertaining game last night between North Carolina and Maryland. After watching all these boring, defense oriented Big Ten games over the years it's refreshing to get up tempo offenses in a big game. No surprise Maryland ended up losing; this was setup to be a big UNC win with the pressure off from losing earlier.

byu player punches 'tah player in the face, tells him to "stay down"

the media needs to call byu's AD to task, between this incident (he was in attendance, btw) and all the flagrant stuff going on with his football team.

Dude had his fists clenched after hitting the Utah kid and he went down. Will say he dropped pretty quick after getting hit in the chest and not the jaw but still that could have got really, really ugly.

I would think a multiple game suspension should be in order for that BYU kid and those two AD's need to rethink how they handle that rivalry game

the byu player got a one game suspension from the wcc. i haven't seen or heard anything from byu about the incident.

i actually thought taylor got punched over the eye, given the way he was clenching at it. maybe his head hit the deck when he went down. either way, byu is just gross.

Well, when Arizona was down 20 at home to UCLA in 2002 and roared back to win, I don't recall McKale fans storming the court.

Nothing wrong with being excited to win, especially hitting the go-ahead shot with ten seconds left. But storming the court? Still weak IMO.

Well, they did. It's UCLA. A rival. A big, emotional comeback is met with a big, emotional release.

This diminishes us?

I stand corrected. Thanks. I will say that UCLA was a top 10 team at the time and Arizona was the underdog. Other than the buzzer beater over Stanford in '99, that's the only other time fans stormed the court at McKale (again, correct me if I'm wrong.)
