AAC won’t let them stay on as a football-only school.

Which means that they most likely become an independent. Either that or like join the MAC.

Inevitably they'll end up back in FCS.

Marshall is long overdue for a promotion out of C-USA football. However BBall isn’t a fit in the Big E.

Edit: What am I even saying? Marshall football AND basketball is a fine enough fit for the AAC.

The college basketball season ramps up with a vengeance this week. In addition to our two games and a number of other Pac-12 games this week, Tuesday features an ESPN double-header at 5 pm with 3.) Kansas @ 26.) Michigan State, followed at 7 pm by 10.) Kentucky @ 9.) Duke.

I like Kansas and Duke to roll this week.

Michigan battled to the wire at home vs, Seton Hall - horrible execution in last minute. missed FT with 00.8 seconds!!! LOSS 65-67

The bloom is off their rose - our victory over them in Vegas won’t stand out as much…

Let's get all the details before we start firing people but if he is guilty I would think so. How can a parent let their kids play for someone with violent tendencies?

I mean, it seems like he was arrested and charged. I assume the evidence is pretty clear given who he is. What more do you need to hear?

He will not be fired. F it is Texas. Read some of the comments on the story and some say they have family members that deserve choking out. No it will be pleaded down or that family member (read it was his wife but not verified) says they made up the choking part or refuses to cooperate. If it is his wife she will quietly file for divorce and receive a nice settlement. It is Texas.....what background does their football coach have? Looks like a mandatory anger mgmt class to me. LOL.

It is Texas, but it's Austin, TX. Things a bit different there than the rest of Texas.

Either you are a person who will act violently towards a woman or you aren't. Alcohol just speeds up the process.

I guess the Texas contradiction is that he's more likely to spend time in prison than be fired, if that makes sense? Texas imprisons their population like no other.

I was in er once for chest pain and the lady next to me was in for getting beat up by her husband. The hospital had a social worker trying to get her to find alternative sleeping arrangements and at the very end the woman decided to go home. The person helping me said they see that every day. Domestic abuse victims don't always want change

Maybe she was scared that if she didn’t come home he’d hunt her down and hurt her more, or kill her, or would do something to their children or pets or family.

I doubt it was that she didn’t want anything to change. Perhaps she just thought that change would make things worse.

Looks like Beard and his attorney are going with the old, "I'm into kinky sex which allows me to beat the crap out of a woman", defense.

This is Texas, so if the state Attorney General can successfully argue Beard had attempted to abort someone's respiration there might be a substantive case here.

Oh they always want change but economic realities overwhelm them when they are weighing real choices vs trying again.

Not a chance. Look at Baylor Football for example. No one is going to go against a sucessful coach that is bringing the program to new heights. As I predicted the victim is backing away for two good reasons. 1. Fear of a real beating and 2. Promised a good divorce settlement.

That will be about (when is there next big game?) long. Nothing is going to happen.

Not often you see this: Beard is permitted to communicate with the alleged victim in a non-threatening manner. Since the victim is also a potential witness this communication is often/usually restricted.

Where the fuck is ESPN saying he should never coach another game or be around student athletes. Hate those pieces of shit. Probably say wait till the evidence is in. F them.
