There's still a ton of time for us to face-plant on this.

Yes - As of an hour ago the Big 12 has formally approved Arizona’s application to join.

Last step is the Board of Regents greenlighting the move. Currently in session for another hour. Will we know tonight?

It blows seeing the 108 year history of the pac 12 and it's precursors come to such a greed driven end, but it is necessary if we want to see Arizona athletics survive and thrive. As I grow old I'll always miss those lazy Saturday afternoon with Keith Jackson calling abc sports pac 10 games and the traditional rose bowl and being a student during the pac 10 days and just the natural good clean west coast feeling of a Washington State/Cal or Arizona/Oregon game. It just won't feel the same having Cincinnati or Iowa State or Baylor as conference foes instead of UCLA or Stanford or Washington. But it is survival.
i was going to put the ua/asu records here...but i forgot what they were.

i'll just go with fuck asu.

Not that I want ASU to tag along, but what more could George possibly say to salvage this? This shit Apple deal expires tomorrow, everyone hates it, and even if he managed to throw in a few slots on real TV, it's nothing compared to what the Big 12 will give them, and even more of a joke to try and keep Oregon and Washington from moving to the Big 10. Is some guilt trip of what will happen to the four schools with nowhere to go supposed to be enough to convince Crow to stay?

So in the replies of that Karpman tweet above, sounds like the sentiment in the BoR meeting is that Arizona is going and ASU is planning to stay? For now? Are the votes in? Can someone, anyone, with more clarity into what’s going on catch us up?

Edit: Wow, ASU fans not happy with Crow at the moment. To quote one of the replies re: Crow: “Will set ASU athletics back decades because he wants power and control that the Pac affords him.”

We already sent our big 12 application in and it's been accepted by the big 12, the ABOR likely approved the move during their meeting but will probably be made official tomorrow

Asu hasn't sent in an application and looking like crow still wants to hear out the pac 12 apple deal out

If they do want to move, they're a couple days or a week behind

Also, won't there be those few good players, regional guys who used to get snagged by WSU and OSU and ASSU who wanna stay out here but don't want to play in the MWC? Won't they visit this campus more now?

Does CFP stand for "College Football PoorHouse"???

The MWC members each receive about $4M/year, and thats where the remnants of the PACTanic are headed to.

1. Who gives a shit if they make it every year just to get absolutely shredded by anyone they face from the B1G or SEC?

2. The CFP expansion is only for 2024 and 2025 so far, they have very clearly stated it can and will change if needed. It wasn't even supposed to kick in until 2026 except they made a last second change. Nothing stopping them from changing it back due to conference realignments.

B1G North => 1 bid

B12 West => 1 bid

OK, I just made up the Conference names, but you get the idea. That's yer 6 automatic bids.

You are a fucking moron
They'd have to go undefeated and bribe the selection committee. Come on, man. Stop it.
Until the rules are changed the top 6 conference winners get automatic bids. The Mountain West PAC12 merger winner will be a top 6 conference winner every year. If fucking sucks but Oregon state Washington State and assu are gonna make CFPs

I don’t want those twats anywhere near the CFP. We will never hear the end of it. Yes they will still get destroyed by a Penn St or Tennessee but they will still be in

Fuck asu and the money they will make if it happens

I don’t see them changing the 6 conference title winners rule though. The other conferences need a voice and a chance and changing it to 5 still helps asu and Oregon State and fucks over the other conferences

It's like talking to a brick wall.

Once football is consolidated to 3 power conferences or less, which will happen with the death of the ACC and the Pac, they will not give a shit about all the lesser conferences and exclude them.

Hell, the Big 12 will probably die off sooner rather than later if it can't improve its position in football.

But the Pac is done. It's over. Dead.

Oh yeah for sure man, schools openly talking about bailing from the ACC over revenue issues is the sign that a conference is on the right track.

Espn can demand up to 500 Million a school as a buyout or take every penny they make on tv rights until their GOR ends.

The ACC schools have zero leverage except public opinion. Seriously UA joining the B1G is a billion times more likely than the ACC going away anytime soon

The best teams will still get the best bowls and the most money. I don't know what you're trying to prove.

FESPN is such trash. It’s not the four “Corner Schools”. It’s the “4-Corners” schools. It’s a freaking national landmark. Go watch Breaking Bad, or buy an atlas.
