USC fans seem to think Harbaugh's wife wants him to take their job. I can't imagine a super bowl winning HC couldnt easily get an NFL job

Agreed. Wonder if JJ would go back, though. I bet Tomey would, no matter what he says about the status of his career.

Either way, Hawaii should have kept Norm Chow.

I stopped reading after the bolded. USC fans think they can reincarnate Vince Lombardi and get him to coach there.

I doubt they're even going to have a football program next year.

I think it was more the big programs started calling and he knew he wanted that top tier kind of program.

Cross Minnesota off the list. Interim coach Tracy Claeys got the gig and just got a 3 year contract.

MacIntyre got a vote of confidence from the school, saying he'd be back next year, but there's a whisper or two that he may be interested in the Illinois job.

Yep, the Colorado HC. Their results haven't been great but they are playing far better than they were when he got there. Hawkins and Embree pretty much burned that program to the ground.

I hope to hell that is not the case.......would leave a hole in our schedule next year and I have an epic vacation planned for the other end of the home & home in 2019.

BTW, take a look at who else Hawaii has on their non-con that would be looking for dance partners....

If the MW can't fill Hawaii's spot then most of the conference will need to fill a schedule spot.

Not only that, but he has a $15 million buyout and word is the AD doesn't consider that an obstacle. Plus staff buyouts, so around $17 million total. Then you have to hire a coach and that's not going to come cheap. If LSU cans Miles they are making a huge mistake in my opinion.

That is not a surprise with how they shit down their collective leg in that game yesterday.

As for Les Miles, I think it's probably time for both parties to get a fresh perspective. Les might tell you he wants to coach at LSU until the end of time, but I actually don't think that's true.

The question in my mind is always 'who do you have lined up and/or think you have lined up that's a clear upgrade?'

If they can answer that question, then have at; sometimes a change is necessary. If they stumble over that question (which would be my guess that they would), then that's not so good...

Rhoads isn't a surprise. He has been there for 7 years and gone 7-6 5-7 6-7 6-7 3-9 2-10 3-8

Went to three bowls in his first four years but since the program became wholly his with his recruits they've just gotten worse. To top it off they've watched Baylor, Oklahoma state and tcu become good during the times that Texas has been bad.

I can't see LSU's BOR approving $17M in buy outs while they are considering bankruptcy. It just seems like terrible politics.

The $15 million-dollar buyout clause that is in Les Miles’ contract is what many perceive as one of the bigger hang-ups in making a move.

However, TAF, the athletic program’s booster club that funds a lot of the athletic programs for LSU, will not allow the buyout issue to thwart its plans, according to a high-ranking source.

I think he is a much better for for USC due to expectations of Alumni groups.

LSU boosters have hated Miles since he was hired because he is an acerbic prick who does not like to attend back-slapping alumni events and rub elbows. Oregon alumni had the same opinion of Kelly. They have similar terse personalities, but I think Kelly is a better coach.

I think Kelly is a better fit for USC. Big money boosters in LA have better things to do than obsess over Trojan football; win and everybody will be happy with you. Kelly can do that.

If I was LSU, I'd make a run at Dabo but I am not sure he'll leave Clemson; that school recruits like crazy, has tremendous fan support with lower expectations (and competition) than the SEC West, and Dabo seems happy there.

I'd then set my targets on Fedora. He knows the recruiting terrain and is a damn good football coach.

Unless you run that defense in a Multiple style Defensive package or don't run it as a base defense.

Unfortunately the RR to South Carolina rumors are heating up again in the Twitterverse. Expect his name to pop up at any Power 5 school with an opening that gets turned down by their Tier 1 candidates.
