Bad hire, imo. Georgia is a top 10 job in all of college and they just handed the keys to a guy with no head coaching experience. He will be Muschamp 2.0 at UGA.

Time will tell... He's been working for the best. Hopefully for UGA's sake he learned something.

As for ntSC, a swing and miss on Herman... A swing and miss on Smart... And rumors being floated on Muschamp.

I would say the stage is perfectly set for a Rodriguez announcement to be made and well received. Would not surprise me at all... If it is inevitable, let it happen in the next 48 hours.

He's a Georgia guy. He could also be Jimbo Fisher or Mark Richt (lol)

ESPN and the Columbia paper overnight reporting that ntSC is making plans to talk with OK's Lincoln Riley. Who is also being mentioned with Memphis opening. Riley young, but is getting interest.

probably as courtesy, Interim Shawn Elliott interviewing with Ray Tanner today. Tanner has already stated publicly wants search done by 12/12 or sooner

Hopefully.

IIRC, Somny Dykes was in Matt Brown's home the evening before he was announced as the head coach at La Tech and did not mention anything.

I won't feel comfortable until ntSC announces a new head football coach not named RR.

How did Miami luck into such a good coach in like 24 hours? (I know he has some ties, but still)

Golf clap for the Hurricanes.

This deal was obviously done before Richt was officially out at Georgia. The "I am ready to work again within 24 hours" was a dead giveaway.

Surprised it happened this quick, but it is too good of a fit for both sides for it not to have been inevitable.

Doesn't mean they could not counter...

Factoring in his retention plan and buyout, he would need a pretty sweet deal just to reach parity with his current one.

I will still add, that it is a rumor... "indirectly". "Few people". Wanted more money. Nothing concrete. But that's me. No else (YET) reporting. Could be... easily as it could not have been.

Try to keep up Cordera. "Isn't going after" has no relationship to "Never went after".

it don't matter if I don't keep with info, I always check to know which school are getting who. I know for a fact RR isn't going to leave Arizona if offer.

No surprise on richt. Been rumors of him being fired at Georgia since mid season. Miami had already been looking for a coach since October. I wouldn't be surprised if Richt and Miami hadn't started talking a week for two ago.
i was going to put the ua/asu records here...but i forgot what they were.

It's one thing if you're the head coach, but last weekend is the only time I've ever seen an assistant coach get unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

Sonny is 13-23, 7-20 in Conference. He must think he is still playing college baseball where a .361 success rate is very good, or in the majors where .260 is somewhat respectable.

Tedford's final 3 years, which was his worst 3-year stint as head coach, was better than that - and he got fired. But Sonny deserves a raise and extension? Comical.

Count me out of the contingent that wants him here if RR leaves. He is a climber who will fuck us over at the earliest opportunity if given the chance, and he is not THAT good of a coach.

No thanks.

This could be a bit hit for ASU. Norvell was their best recruiter. Rumor (unconfirmed) is that their second best recruiter, Chip Long, might also be up for a HC job. If true, interesting to watch how recruiting is effected. Obviously a good sign for the health of the program, (having asst coaches sought out for promotions), but the timing could prove problematic for ASU.
