I feel the ABOR will do all it can to protect Tempe Normal.
Michael Crow runs the ABOR through Larry Penley.
On espn, ya’ll know they are in panic mode over there with layoffs and potential divestment from Disney, right? Internally, they know shifting to streaming is the only way they as a network will have any stability. They won’t be the same network in three years.

I'm really hoping that the result of the ABOR meeting is "Go ahead and go, but see if you can take your little brother with you."

They plan to have their own streaming service, Not sure if they will stay on CATV and aggregate streaming services. I'm guessing it will cost at least $20/month.
Average TV viewers for each remaining PAC-9 team is like 1.2M so good luck with all of that.
And how many are avid enough fans to subscribe? Maybe 200k?

Fine with me. No reason they should go. We can always schedule them non-con to give them a proper beatdown.

I tried to watch TNF on Amazon and I hated it. I have to basically log back in if I want to channel surf during commercials or half time. If that is what streaming on apple would be like, there is no way I would watch.

I consider myself a diehard and I’m legitimately on the fence about subscribing to Apple PAC-9+.
Meanwhile I already get ESPN as part of my Disney package.

You do know 40% of big12 games are streaming this year right?

It is giving information. You gotta get espn+ and stream to watch many UA games if UA moved to the Big 12. Lots of important information about the Big 12 gets ignored by many people here and in the "media"

We don’t ignore the key points like the PAC is a sinking ship with no future and the Big 12 is saving our ass from being relegated to a conference wasteland.

Math is hard for some people.
Yes, its really hard for two posters in particular.
I'm waiting for the other one to show up and make the case that we should stay in the MountainPACWest Conference because there is a 0.00002% chance we might get invited to join the SEC in 2150.

I would get the Apple sports app to watch the cats no matter the price but this move is not about that.
It’s about more money over the next 5-8 years. A considerable amount more.
It’s about joining the premier basketball conference and being highlighted in big games that the nation can watch weekly.
It’s about a growing football program that right now would have the second best recruiting class in the conference and might contend very quickly for a championship.
It’s about not playing until the stroke of midnight every freaking game it seems.
It’s about passionate fan bases and schools that care for athletics.
It’s about leadership that is effective and forward thinking

The UA will make a lot more money and actually have some exposure on a national network!!!

This is such a weird retort because the majority of the complaints of low home attendance for years have been late start times.
We always had late home games after 7 unless we were playing USC or an Oregon and we were somehow decently good
We'll get better start times if we're decently good and facing a good team and get 5-6 start times (or midday), although count it more for basketball unless football catches up

Incompetent leadership
.
Always gatekeeping and thinking about the long term and they get their comeuppance
Staying any longer with this leadership is going to continue to hurt us in the long term

I don't like this narrative we only go if we take ASSU and Utah with us.
Look out for #1 should be our only mindset right now.

I think it's made up imo. It's been UA can/will move without and now after the Apple deal drops it's suddenly we won't move without them. B.S.
If it is true than Robbins just proved with out a doubt it's true what everyone says about him .

I think we should wait to see how this situation shakes out before blaming Robbins......we really don't have any public information on what he is actually doing at the moment.
I would also point out that Robbins has mostly inherited this mess......which has been over a decade in the making.
If we want to blame someone we should look at who was the UA President when Larry Scott was voted into power.....and then never questioned what he was doing.

Yes, that is one of the MANY rumors out there. Unfortunately, thats pretty much all we have to operate off right now.......rumors.
Thats why I pointed out that we need to let this situation play itself out before looking for torches and pitchforks and anointing scapegoats.
