I would not shed a single tear if the B12 stopped at 14 (to await the outcome of the potential ACC breakup) and let asu die on the vine in the MWC 2.0
Neither would I
Would be funny if Utah and Stanford joined the big-12 and ASU was left out.
There is actually some logic in the B12 taking Stanford & SDSU. They would get two West coast teams in the SoCal/Bay area markets
I could see Cal, Stanford, and Utah over us thanks to Crow and ABOR. That tweet about "other options" is not reassuring.
For fuck sake. UA is already approved. Robbins just has to give the final call

ORWA going B1G also means the BIG12 will likely remain ESPN's 4th window conference not only for the next contract, but beyond. Again, without LA or ORWA, the ESPN isn't going to pay a SEC premium for the remaining west coast teams.

The last question for ORWA is how much of a share they get to start. At half share, WA was complaining that's a major issue, because they expect an extra $10 million in travel costs. And half share of $60 million ($30 million - $10 million extra travel ) equals out to $20 million. Which is what UW would make in the PAC. Now, if it's a ladder situation where ORWA get 1/2 to start, and full share by year 5, ORWA still comes out way ahead. Additional travel costs is why ORWA were never considering the BIG12. It's not as big a concern for the 4-corner schools, with BYU and our closer proximity to Texas and the midwest.
Its a MIRACLE! AzCatFan2 now thinks we should leave the PAC

And now for a musical interlude -

A long, long time ago
I can still remember how the conference
Used to make me smile
And I knew when we had a chance
Winning could make those people dance
And maybe we’d be happy for a while
But realignment made me shiver
With every paper they'd deliver
Bad news on the doorstep
I couldn't take one more step
I can't remember if I cried
When I read about those widowed brides
Something touched me deep inside
The day our conference died

So, bye-bye, to our piece of the pie
Drove our Chevy to the heavies, but the heavies were dry
And them good ol' boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye
Singin', "This' is how the conference will die
This is how the conference will die"

Did you watch the team we love
And do you have faith in God above
If the Bible tells you so?
Now, do you believe in the pick 'n' roll
Can winning save your mortal soul
And can you teach me how to watch real slow?
Well, I know that they're in love with him
'Cause I saw them talkin’ in the gym
They both broke all the rules
Man, I hate those LA schools.
I was a lonely teenage bronckin' buck
With Wildcat nation on my pickup truck
But I knew I was out of luck
The day our conference died

So, bye-bye, to our piece of the pie
Drove our Chevy to the heavies, but the heavies were dry
And them good ol' boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye
Singin', "This' is how the conference will die
This is how the conference will die"

Now, in the end we’ll be on your own
And moss grows fat on a rollin' stone
But that's not how it used to be
When the jester sang for the king and queen
He told us no one could guard Kareem
And a voice that came from you and me
Oh, and while he was talking down
The teams who play in truckstop towns
The courtroom was adjourned
A verdict was returned
And while Scott and Geaorge had lots of bark
We had to find a place to park
Or we’d be playing in the dark
The day our conference died

We were singin', bye-bye, to our piece of the pie
Drove our Chevy to the heavies, but the heavies were dry
And them good ol' boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye
Singin', "This' is how the conference will die
This is how the conference will die"

Helter skelter in a summer swelter
The teams flew off for a fallout shelter
Nine teams left and falling fast
It landed foul on the grass
The players tried for a forward pass
With the jester on the sidelines in a cast
Now, the halftime air was sweet perfume
While sergeants played a marching tune
We all got up to dance
Oh, but we never got the chance
'Cause the lawyers tried to take the field
The loyal fans refused to yield
Do you recall what was revealed
The day our conference died?

We started singin', bye-bye, to our piece of the pie
Drove our Chevy to the heavies, but the heavies were dry
And them good ol' boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye
Singin', "This' is how the conference will die
This is how the conference will die"

Oh, and there we were all in one place
A generation lost in space
With no time left to start again
So, come on, Jack be nimble, Jack be quick
Jack Flash sat on a candlestick
'Cause fire is the Devil's only friend
Oh, and as I watched him on the stage
My hands were clenched in fists of rage
No angel born in Hell
Could break that Satan spell
And as the flames climbed high into the night
To light the sacrificial rite
I saw Satan laughing with delight
The day our conference died

He was singin', bye-bye, to our piece of the pie
Drove our Chevy to the heavies, but the heavies were dry
And them good ol' boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye
Singin', "This' is how the conference will die
This is how the conference will die"

I met a girl dressed in red and blues
And I asked her for some happy news
But she just smiled and turned away
I went down to the sacred store
Where I'd watched my Cats years before
But the man there said the team wouldn't play
And in the streets the children screamed
The lovers cried, and the poets dreamed
But not a word was spoken
The church bells all were broken
And the three things I admire most
The Father, Son and Salmon’s Ghost
They caught the last train off the coast
The day our conference died

And they were singin', bye-bye, to our piece of the pie
Drove our Chevy to the heavies, but the heavies were dry
And them good ol' boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye
Singin', "This' is how the conference will die
This is how the conference will die"

Can we get another Sartre or Camus quote? Or for someone just as pessimistic I raise you Arthur Schopenhauer - possibly he was also frustrated by conferences eventually cannibalizing each other:

"The pain in the world always outweighs the pleasure. If you don't believe it, compare the respective feelings of two animals, one of which is eating the other."
Another pearl from Artie: All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

ABOR is waiting for the scummies. They want to approve UA and ASU at the same time. This is all on Michael Crow pulling back. So the ABOR is slow moving now. Still, UA is going to the Big 12 in any case. They don't need the ABOR's permission. They just need to wait for the public vote.

It doesn't matter for the UA, we applied and the Big 12 unanimously accepted the application. We are the 14th team in the league and the first 14 receive a full share. The Cats are going to officially announce the move tomorrow. Who cares what happens to ASU.

Assuming we are in the 14 team Big 12 now. I rather have San Diego State and Stanford

Order of presence for the last two schools assuming it will go to 16

1) San Diego State

3) Cal
4) Oregon State
5) UConn
6) Memphis
7) Washington State
8) Tulane
9) UNLV (moves up to #1 if it means Big 12 tournament in Vegas every year)
10) Utah

310) Devry
311) University of Phoenix

Looking back over the past year there are only 3 logical conclusions to draw from Canzanos drivel:

1) His sources lied to him (continuously). If that is the case he should out his sources and apologize to his readers (he has not)

2) He has been a willing shill for the PAC12

3) He doesn't have any sources and just made everything up

Its a really bad look no matter which of the above is true. Clownzano has ZERO credibility going forward.
