Special teams were not really an issue this year like years past.
Excellent point! And when we did have a dedicated Special Teams Coach (Hammershmidt) he took a very promising freshman punter and made him worse every year.

Just thinking of the Joe Rob years and how successful ST was under Tomey.

Hoping the ST was nothing more than a Rich Rod not caring about that aspect (and Sumlin not caring about anything) issue. ST were pretty good under Stoops until Hammerschmidt came in.

Don't recall Dorrell being such a stone face like he was yesterday. No emotion at all good play or bad. Made Dick Tomey look like Mike Stoops.

Don't take it Deion. You deserve better than Colorado.

Doesn’t seem like a good fit for Deion. In fact, he probably gains immensely by turning them down.

Big jump for a FCS coach. Not sure what team would be a better fit for him. Any team would be a bottom dweller.

CU has had some good teams turn of this century, along with a shared Natty in 1990, so they did have somewhat of a winning tradition. More so than Arizona.

Although the destruction of the PAC-12 will hurt recruiting for head coaches. Don't want to end up in the WAC or Big West.

Wow! Surprised at this because I figured he’d ride it out until they finally fired him years from now. Or maybe they did fire him but let him tell everyone he’s quitting.

Nice body of work, especially with having to deal with the academics required by the university.

https://gostanford.com/news/2022/11/27/ ... coach.aspx

In addition to guiding Stanford to three Rose Bowl Game appearances, Shaw is the only four-time Pac-12 Coach of the Year, having led the Cardinal to three conference titles. Shaw's 96 overall wins rank ninth in Pac-12 history while his 65 conference victories rank fifth. Stanford achieved 29 wins against top-25 opponents (ranking eighth nationally since 2011), 11 against top-10 programs and five against top-5 foes. Additionally, the Cardinal had 43 players drafted, a total ranking tied for 13th nationally and tied for the most in the Pac-12.

I wonder why he thinks players will be leaving.

Shaw was a class act and represented the conference well. Had some really good teams and big wins but you could tell the last few years his teams regressed.

He would make an excellent announcer btw.

ASU is paying Herm $4.4M to leave, so that doesn't leave a whole lot of money, as Arizona had to deal with paying off RichRod and Sumlin.

Similar rise to Fisch and Arizona.

2020: 0 wins
2021: 2 wins
2022: 5 wins

Yet Fisch is the chosen one, the savior of a doomed program. Arroyo gets fired for it.

Maybe if folks equate crying in press conferences and interviews with having the coaching ability of Dick Vermeil. Now I admit I didn't watch but heard of the crying.....and being an Eagles fan, I first thought of Dick Vermeil
