I think that is a good choice. Stoops has reached his limit at UK. I don't believe Fisch is leaving. I especially can't see him uprooting his family for College Station. Fisch is posturing. He will be offered a 5-6 million extension to stay ay UA.

Floating Mark Stoops name out there got quite the reaction from aTm fans.

So apparently he’s staying in Lexington.

USC has to be paying well north of 1.8M for this guy. He is a position coach. We better pony up or we might be in danger of losing a few. Carroll might have one of the best offensive lines in the country next year and a large part of that was strictly development.

If one of the truly top 10 or 15 (over time) programs comes knocking for somebody, there won't be much we can do if an assistant coach wants to go for bigger money, what they consider more opportunity, or whatever. Hopefully, we've sweetened the pot sufficiently that nobody feels neglected or abused. In terms of USC, a couple of factors they have to consider are:

o Risk vs Reward with assistants as the sacrificial lambs for anything less than ultra-success
o Cost of Living with housing three times higher in LA County than Pima
o Quality of Life in terms of the environment you want to raise your kids in

Violent dictator? Wow, not sure I’d take it that far but I agree it’s nice to think that Alabama will take a small step back.

He’s probably looking at the new 12 team playoff and thinking his chances of winning at least 3 games for a ‘ship will be a helluva lot harder.

He also knows that with the transfer rules, being top-3 in recruiting yearly doesn’t mean what it used to. Your Wolverines proved that this year.

True. But actually the Wolverines success this year was more about players staying this year after the TCU loss as opposed to a lot of transfers coming in a la Arizona.

Yes, but because other programs lost talent, having recruiting classes outside the top-10 didn’t doom Michigan (or Washington) once they got in the Playoff.

During the Championship Game broadcast, Michigan was noted for having 44 seniors on the roster. That's an entire 2-deep of Seniors. Not only did a lot of guys return from last year, but many were doubling their senior years thanks to the extra year of eligibility granted by the Covid year.

"Covid year" seniors will almost all be gone across college football next season. Michigan will be a completely different roster next season.

Best case for Arizona is Norvell to Alabama, Sanders to Florida State and Colorado hiring some a coach from FCS or the group of 5

True, as well as a lot of teams taking advantage of that. There was one player, think he was a QB, which will be entering his 7th year!

The point is - the college football landscape has moved closer and closer to NFL model where there will be more parity overall. And while the Michigan's, Georgia's, Alabama's etc.. will still be the better teams year after year it will be almost impossible to establish another 'Bama-like dynasty.

Bama is not a great job. A lot of resources for sure, but the expectations are insane.

If you take that job and don’t win a Natty by Year 3, you’re a failure. Just making it to a 12-team playoff won’t cut the spicy mustard in Tuscaloosa.

Looking like DeBoer to Bama

Does Washington go after Fisch. I think so.

But if Fisch wants Florida or NFL best to stay at Arizona one more year

OK, clearly not for Bama, but a chain reaction can result in an opening more reasonable. We need to get CJF signed pronto.

Fisch's buyout is $5.5M until November 2024 then it drops.

DeBoer's buyout is $12M.

I would definitely stay at UDub with this offer. You can never be good enough at Bama.

The thing with Fisch is that it’s so well known he’d want the Florida job, would Washing hesitate? Knowing Fisch is gone as quick as Deboer if the Gators come calling?

Not just Fisch, but with no more transfer restrictions, have to worry about his players following him too, especially Fifita with Penix gone. Then if Fifita goes, what about T-Mac?

So lock Fisch up, and make his buyout prohibitively expensive.
