So I guess this was a big fat lie. Hope Washington doesn't get too attached because you clearly can't trust him to stay.

Totally expected. He has never stayed at a place longer than 3 years.

I would have gone too. UW has quite a storied football history. UA has none.

I assume this will be like when Jay Johnson left in baseball and gutted the roster in the process?

This was the only thing about the Jedd Fisch hire that I didn't like. Knew he'd be gone sooner rather than later if he succeeded here. Time to fire up the coaching hotboard I guess.

Just want to throw out a sincere thank you to Jedd Fisch.

You came to Tucson and did exactly what we asked you to do. You turned around our shitty program and you did it in a hurry.

That being said, you’re also probably dooming us to an even quicker return to being shitty so I hope you fail miserably in Seattle and you desperately wish for the rest of your life that you could take back the decision to coach UW.

Yup. Happy he turned us around but I'm positive the whole staff and any decent players will leave. We'll be back to a 1 or 2 win team within the year is my guess.

Is he going to say goodbye to his players, unlike Smith?

Expecting a career similar to what Larry Smith had at SC for Fisch at UW. A few good years, followed by mediocre years and a firing. Smith remained a mediocre coach at Missouri after fired by SC.

Expect no recruits to sign until it becomes clear the new coaching situation. Expect at a minimum TMAC to leave and probably our QB too. We are in the same situation only worse timing than when Jedd came. Washington is hiring a sub 500 coach with one good season. That is a bit of a risk. Enjoy the weather coach.

I dont know why Washington fans would be happy about this hire. He pissed off the Arizona players, he might not be able to keep many Washington players who are looking to transfer or decomit, and you know he's gonna leave as soon as the NFL comes calling.

OTOH, if Jedd ultimately refuses, especially in person, he attains Lute Olson sainthood status (refused UK after in person visit), and rulz the transfer portal this spring!!!

Lute with a natty made less than Mike Stoops did at Arizona when he was hired, who was never a head coach and only a co-DC at Oklahoma.

That truly is sports sainthood.

They are gone. Washington 1st priority is getting a QB since they just had their backup leave. Noah, TMAC and probably our LB Manu are gone as well as the tight end that came from Servite. Bad weekend for Wildcat sports.

Here's the irony: if JDL never gets injured we maybe go 7-5 (likely 6-6) and go to a lesser bowl and Fafita takes the reins the following year. Fisch falls off everyone's radar and we have a dynamite team heading into the Big 12.

Be careful what you wish for.

I believe we are witnessing the end of college FB and BB. The fans of the less storied teams will check out because their best players will leave for bigger schools and the more storied organizations will follow suit, when their best players transfer to join super teams.

I’m pretty much there. Why, as a fan, be loyal to a team when the best players and coaches simply leave after one good season. With the AD in financial trouble we’re doomed as Arizona fans.
