Mike Leach hospitalized

Post by Irish27 »

Mike Leach was airlifted 100 miles to a hospital today. It does not sound good.

Could have been ours. He lobbied for the job, but we went with RichRod instead. Leach was deemed too toxic at the time. Ironic, considering how RichRod's tenure ended.

Wish him well and hope he can fully recover. Hope to see him one day on the sidelines again, but outlook not looking great. Real innovative coach that can take any school to the top.

If he survives this he's not coaching football ever again.

Such sad news. He was supposed to be at their bowl kick off luncheon a few days ago. Not sure how the team moves forward. Seems like a good time to bow out of that game, especially if things end up being even worse news wise

I really wanted him at Arizona like I mentioned above. All they had to do was have him sign a zero tolerance policy contract, where if he abused any players he would get fired with no severance pay.

Anyone who can win at WSU can coach for any of my teams. Mike Price too, he took Wazzu to 2 Rose Bowls and put 5(?) WSU QBs in the league during his tenure. UA of course has no Rose Bowl appearances, and the only UA QB to take a snap in the NFL during the PAC era (since 78) is Nick Foles.

This is just awful news. Was not only a great coach but he never seemed to take everything so seriously. His sense of humor/timing is legendary.

God bless Coach Leach.

God this day has been so shitty. My 12 year old poodle Autumn who was also beside me during work at home and Arizona games passed away yesterday. She watched us beat Indiana for her final game. I'm already in mourning.

Ugh. I hate to see anyone go out like this, but Mike Leach always sounded like a fun guy and clearly he was a great coach. What an awful loss for Football right before Christmas.

He was a natural stand up comedian whose side gig was excellent football coaching.

Aw, man. Sounded like this was the inevitable, but still sad. I truly loved his humor. Rest in power, coach. Hey, he has the last date on his tombstone as my late husband. That’s a conversation I’d like to hear…

I'm reading that these are the helmets Mississippi State are wearing for their bowl game.
