They just take so many chances with old and hurt players instead of riding their young talent no matter if they have to take a step back for a few seasons. Any other team would have gone with Domingo German and Deivi Garcia but they had to overspend on Kluber and Taillon.

He’s riding the wave of the 98-01 teams that he most certainly did not put together. When it comes to rosters he’s responsible for, the Yankees have one championship in twenty years.

Honestly, I feel like the Steinbrenners are just too lazy to fire him. The cash keeps rolling in and they are under the luxury tax so who cares what decrepit, old, injured players trot onto the field every game.

Worse, the guy on first (Gleyber) failed to advance to second when the throw after a wild pitch went to third to get Urshela trying to advance. Then he went ahead and got picked off first even though he wasn’t even looking to steal. They had first and second with 1 out and ran themselves completely out of the inning.

And while I used to bitch and moan about good young players getting shipped to other teams without getting a chance to develop, I can now appreciate the Win It All NOW mentality that led to those decisions.

The current attitude is “Maybe one day we will win it all again, but in the meantime just keep paying $500 to attend a game where we make three errors, leave 15 men on base, strike out 22 times, and make multiple base running gaffes that keep us from scoring more than a couple of runs. Now drink up! That $16 Miller Lite isn’t getting better by sitting in that plastic cup. ”

Sort of funny how the Dodgers and Yankees sort of swapped positions in that regard, right?

Dodgers were known for years to be the best farm franchise in Baseball (still are pretty good) supported by all of those consecutive Rookies of the Year. Now they go after Betts and Bauer and give up some pretty good talent to win now.

I'm not sure the Yankees have done a full 180 but they seem to be stuck in the middle which I think is hurting them. And the injury curse is not even funny at this point - it's more than a coincidence.
