I think Cole has been affected by the fact that he gets zero run support and he is second guessing every pitch he throws instead of just letting it fly.

So I have both Voit and Rizzo on my FB team. Fucking great.

So far the Yankees have given up 6 minor leaguers for 2 All-Stars and only one of the prospects they dealt was a top-10 guy.

Cashman coming through because he knows I wanted to see his ass fired (out of a cannon).

No idea what happens to Voit. Maybe he gets dealt. Maybe he’s more injured than they are letting on. But he has no position now.

I am not sold on the Gallo addition, we have enough high strike out low average guys but I do like the RIzzo addition. Probably just me and my complete hatred of the three outcome baseball we see today.

Gallo is good. His defense is above average and he obviously hits for power. But other than that (and the fact he’s a lefty) he’s a rally killer just like the rest of the Yankees because he doesn’t put the ball in play often enough. So he doesn’t change the team’s handicap of being purely station to station and waiting for a homer.

Rizzo is a different story. Obviously he’s a great clubhouse guy. And his defense should be an improvement over Voit’s (but maybe not LeMahieu’s). He hits the ball to all fields and puts the ball in play to move runners over and score them from 2nd or 3rd. He also gives the Yankees a lot of lineup flexibility. He puts Odor on the bench which gives them a power bat in a PH role. He allows DJ to play 2nd full time. He can DH when needed (Stanton needs a day off, DJ moves to 1st, Odor plays 2nd), and he leaves Gardner at the end of the bench as a late-inning lefty insert.

Overall I like the moves. They could use one more bullpen arm though.

Heaney is a middle of the rotation lefty with a good breaking ball. he is wildly inconsistent due to nagging injuries mostly but when healthy is a pretty good middle of the rotation guy.

Honestly, I’ve never heard of them.

I’m hoping Heaney needs a change of scenery and that it will right the ship. Otherwise I’m guessing he’s going to be in a pitching platoon with Sevy Garcia.

Heaney has been bleh with the Angels. Yankees needed LH bats desperately so I like the moves especially Rizzo. Gallo is another high strike out hitter so while this team might squeak into the Playoffs I don’t see them doing much damage against top pitching staffs.

Rizzo has been nothing short of amazing these past two games.
