Exactly.

Have expectations changed? Are 35 rpi teams ok now? Is being a national afterthought ok now?

If they are I'll stop bring up getting a new coach.

Of course, I'll also stop watching.
Yeah, same. It's all hopeless anyway if Robbins and Heeke can't bring in someone better.
Good both of you stop watching and quit bitching and we will all be happier.

I don't mean to be a jerk, but why watch in the beginning if it brings so much negativity?

Look, I get that we struggle and look rough at times, but if you can't find some joy in a young, 6-1 team where the only loss is a close road game to a good opponent, fandom is a substantial negative and why invite that negative?

To be fair the game sucked. If we hit free throws we would've won by a 1000, but instead didn't and it was close for no good reason. The football hire is actual must see TV as an absolute train wreck of epic proportions.

We shot 3-14 from 3 and 19-34 from the line. If either of those had been average, we'd have won easily.

Hell, I like winning.

Why does this team suck so bad at 3 pointers and free throws? Last two games have been absolutely horrendous in those areas.

We shot 48% from 3 vs Stanford?

I agree on the 52% from the line, but threes were the big reason we scored well vs Stanford.

Funny how all of the “we don’t need 5 star players” people can’t understand that if you change that philosophy in recruiting you are going to have a turbulent year or 2 in the process.

That's exactly right, IMO.

This is a two year building process and we're 7 games into year 1. This roster isn't built with one and dones, it's all aiming for multiyear players.

I don't get it. People want players to stay longer like they did with Lute. These are the players that stay. The Aytons, Markannens and Gordons leave.

One thing is guaranteed - people will always bitch about something. :-)

We did not play well overall and still found a way to win at the end. With a new team still finding itself I will take it.
Free throws need to get better and I'm sure Miller will work on that.
As for the 3's, at least they were good looks so I can't complain about shot selection.

100% agree. You have to love the fight the team has in these close games. I’m not so sure if last year’s team had the same fight.

Shot selection is good, save for a few from the freshmen (to be expected in their 6th collegiate game). Team Rebounding is nice to see from multiple positions, and not counting on 1-2 guys to get all of them.

I do want to see Baker be more consistent, Kokoko to play to strengths (might need less playing time in favor of Tubelis), and better defensive rotation and hedging on the perimeter.

I think we will see a lot of improvement in the next 2 weeks.

I'm hoping for gradual improvement with D, turnovers and shot selection as the team grows.

The areas that can change fast are not going 3-14 from three and 19-35 from the line, plus being better on the boards. We should not be even with Montana on the boards. The 3's and ft's, we can make more and have shown that.

Change those 3 areas and we win by 30. Change them and we're a tourney team. Change them and get gradual improvement in those other 3 areas and maybe we pull an upset or two in the tourney.

I don't want to hear another damn word about firing Miller until Robbins is gone. He'd fuck up that hire as well and kill two sports.

I can see it now. "We would like to welcome our new head coach, Avery Johnson!"
