Secret Airlines Business

Post by RichardCranium »

This is something I just came across that strikes me as really, really odd.

I need to get from Jackson Hole Wyoming to Vancouver in April.

No worries really, there are a couple of ways, the cheapest is a Flight that goes JAC-> SLC -> SEA - YVR for about $220

meh.

Out of curiosity I thought I'd check JAC to SEA with the idea to taking the train across the border (I'll have a rail pass, I think),

Well that same exact flight, but terminating in SEA costs TWICE AS MUCH! That is silly!

They are giving me a huge 'discount' to fly an extra leg across an international border.

What would happen if somebody really wanted to go to Seattle and bought that YVR ticket and just left the airport in Seattle without boarding for YVR? Would there be some kind of Homeland Security alert or something?

Heck he could even go on to YVR and then catch the AMTRAK back.

I dunno, it sounds crazy to me.

I just found out that with some of the bigger airlines in the U.S., multi-city trips (departing from a different airport than you arrived at) are almost twice as much as booking two one-way tickets.
Aren't one-way flights sometimes a red flag for DHS?

I guess I really didn't know jack shit about the airline industry.
