Grand Canyon Rafting

Wifey and I just returned from a 9 day lower Grand Canyon oar and paddle trip. Hiked down the Bright Angel and met the rest of the party, who had started 5 days before that at Lees Ferry.

The bottom of the canyon is an absolute wonderland with waterfalls close to the river and short hikes to other falls and swimming holes. Not to mention running some of the biggest runnable rapids in the U.S.

We had a great time.

Awesome CD! I did a 7 day trip back in the late 80's. Absolutely one of the best experiences of my life. I encourage anyone who is slightly interested to make it happen. You won't regret it

Thanks guys.

Yeah it was a bucket list item for me. The wife wanted to do it, and we're not getting younger (I'm 56), so we went for it.

For us, it wasn't cheap, but after the initial outlay, you don't spend any more; so it's not as expensive as it seems at first. Tips are a must at the end though and I tipped well to an extremely deserving group of guides.

It really was a fantastic trip. I think anybody that is thinking about it-should go.
