The Johnson Era starts with an impressive road win over #24 Rice 8-1. Our starting pitcher doesn't walk a batter while we receive 10 walks and play error less ball.

National writer says he was very impressed with the way we played and he said he was surprised how vocal out dugout was. Mentioned we had quite the fan support in Houston for the game. Excited to see how high this coach takes our program

I listened to the last few on Rice's radio stream, you wouldn't have known Rice was the home team by the crowd reactions. Of course, Arizona fans were the only ones with anything to cheer about by that point.

If the Cats can take this series, it would be an impressive start for a team picked to finish 10th in the PAC-11

Cats take game two, 6-2.

Cats win 6-2. Rice tied it up in the 7th with 2 runs and then we hung a crooked 4 spot on then in the 8th. We showed some real resiliency in this game

Cats up 2-1 in the 3rd inning of game 3. What an impressive way to start the season should we sweep

Rice isn't great this year but it is a good statement to go into Houston the first week of the season and sweep a program like that.

We blow a 3-1 lead and lose Game 3 4-3. Still I think a pretty good showing and the sky is the limit with this hard working coach

Less optimistic for this season than Sid (PAC isn't a 3 or 4 team league anymore) but 4-3 and 3-1 against ranked opponents is a great start!

And Johnson is just beginning. The #MLBtrainingGround and reinforcing ties with MLBers reminds me of what Miller started when he came to Arizona.

Also, teams with this climate don't need to schedules road games in February and March. The only explanation I can think of is the coach is trying to build a tough as nails, earn every inch attitude.

Went to the game Friday night. Tickets are now $10/12. Pretty sure it was $6 or $7 last year. Beers are still $8.50 so we're good there. We didnt look all that good, lots of hits and a couple errors. Good time though

Cal made Texas it's bitch this weekend. That is a really good baseball team. Their starting pitching is really good.

Cats win today 23-1 to move to 10-4. Nathan Bannister has now pitched 19 2/3 scoreless innings. Has to be closing in on an AZ record

Cats win today and get the 3 game sweep winning 8-4 to go to 11-4. Pitching has been very good even against Rice and Fullerton. Things are trending very well

What? I was watching it online and turned it off after the 8th. Must have been some 9th inning

Incredible finish. The cats had dedicated the game today to someone who I think passed away. His family was there so I would assume it was very emotional

Guess the kid was Josh Weaver, a 17 year old wildcat fan who passed away from cancer right before the season. His Dad flew out to throw out the first pitch today.

Special day for all involved and I am sure Josh had a hand in it

Bullshit artist Larry Scott is at the game and is being interviewed. Said he has been to 10 of the 12 schools this year. Bet I know which school he hasn't been too.

ASSU leads 2-0

The Wildcats will go for the series win Saturday at 7 p.m. Dalbec (7-3, 3.07 ERA) will start for the Wildcats versus left-hander Chris Castellanos. The game will be televised on Pac-12 Networks.

5-1 lead heading into the 8th inning and lose 6-5. Lack of bullpen pitching has killed this team this year.

Cats beat Cal last night on another lights out outing from Bannister 3-0. Great win on the road against arguably the best pitching staff in the conference.

Cats go for the series win tonight which would be huge. They are 8-8 in conference and 25-14 overall. The conference is really bunched up in the middle and the next 8 conference games will probably decide if they get in the tourney.

Tonight's game is at 7pm on ESPNU

Wow, going to the 13th. Looked like Cal won on a squeeze play but the batter was called out for being out of the box.
