I think candrea really got on them when one of the players said they cane in intimidated by Florida St. I imagine he addressed that with, look at the wall, what do you see. This is ARIZONA

Snyder went far inside so often that FSU probably dreamed about the ball last night. She didn't back down all game, just kept throwing in there and moving the fsu players back.

Interesting tidbit here.
Now we need Taylor to pitch like she's not intimidated much like Gina did to win this series.

much tighter game today

errors are killer

3rd inning with the lovely 2 out rally. 2 outs, nobody on, turns into a hit, a hit, a walk(intentional), and then a 2 rbi hit. had the bases loaded again after that with a walk, but couldnt drive in more.

Denham through 4 has looked real good in the circle. in the 4th she through a devastating off-speed pitch to the 2nd batter. was very Mowatt-esque

this ump is really inconsistent on the zone btw. Denham "walked" fsu's best hitter Sherrill on a ball that was a perfect changeup strike. (she later scored on a hr from anothe rhitter, so that run is just such bullshit). Cat's losing 4-3 after the top of the 5th.

Denham gives up a 3 run bomb.

4-3 Seminoles

I know coach loves playin small-ball, but I think it hurt us there in the bottom of the 5th.

a quick 1-2-3 top of the 6th and we're back to batting.

an unfortunate 1-2-3 for us as well, check swinging but hitting the ball for palomino's out is just damn unlucky. to the 7th we go

Harper with a great jumping snag to end the top of the 7th.

Last at-bats coming up, let's go Cats!

have 2 runners on with 1 out, but unable to find a way to drive in the tieing run.

Cats lose 4-3. Damn. Still, very competitive game today, and Denham pitched quite well (1 unearned on an error that should have ended an inning, and 1 of the 3 earned runs shouldn't have been on base had the ump been wearing his glasses).

Bottom of the order killed us today, couldn't find a hit all game long from them. Ah well, let's go get the pac-12!

Can someone explain to me why Hanah Bowen who has barely batted in her entire Arizona career let alone in two game deciding situations was allowed to be batting in those situations? I'm literally at a loss for words. Where was Statman or Davis??

For sure, I know if I have two runners in scoring position with one out left down 1 that I'm gonna go with the girl who was 0 for 7 on the year and is primarily a pitcher when I have other more proven hitting options on the bench.

I'm not being rude to you POM, sorry, I just have had a lot of questions about Candrea's decisions over the past few season. This is obviously the most recent.

 I agree it was a head-scratcher, thus the "?" above. I can't seem to find a great reason for it either.

It's too bad they could not win today and take the series. Denham pitched very well, just had that one bad inning. I think Candrea did not pinch hit for Bowen because she had already batted against King three times today and had put the ball in play twice and walked the other at bat. Also, Statman is a lefty and both Tamara and Davis went 0-5 against King on Friday. I had no problem having Bowen hit in the 7th, it's just too bad they could not get more runs in when they had runners in scoring position numerous times during the game.

Conference play starts next week and the Cats host Oregon. The Ducks are not the same team as last year, having a couple of their best players transfer. I think UCLA is the top team in the league and probably the country. Even though they lost two of three from FSU, I think the Cats feel they can compete with the best and it should help them down the road this year.

Mulipola with two homers and Snyder pitches 4 shutout innings as the Cats win game two 8-0. Nice to see Schuld pitch an inning of shut-out ball. After getting off to a horrible start, Rylee Pierce's bat has come alive.

Lol was laughing about that too. Wife was the one at home that said she's gonna knock it out after she heard the announcer say that. Great jinx.

Nice sweep of Oregon, even if they are not that great. I was hoping Denham could of pitched longer. She got rattled after the error by Carranco. Reyna probably felt so bad but made up for it with the grand slam. Now they go to Corvallis. Hoping they can take at least two from the Beavers.

Snyder had one tough inning but good to see Hannah come in and help her, pitching four scoreless innings. Harper continues to slug the ball. If they try and pitch around her, teams will then have to contend with Mulipola. The top five hitters can hurt teams in many ways, and now that Pierce is hitting like the team expected, this line-up is one of the best in the nation.

Hmmmm, I dunno. The O'Toole senior year team was ridiculously talented, hell they were the #2 seed in the tourney that year. I think this team is capable of accomplishing what that team couldn't though.

O'Toole was a stud but this year's pitching staff has more depth. By the time they got to the Baylor series, it seemed like Danielle was running out of gas. This year Candrea does not have to pitch Taylor every game thanks to Denham and Snyder. Also, Palomino did not play in the postseason due to her injury, which was a big blow to the offense.

We had O'Toole and then Taylor always pitched game 2 of a series for us, so it wasn't as if we were in a Taryne Mowatt and nothing else pitching situation. I think the Palomino injury is what ultimately did us in outside of Taylor not being able to close that game 3.
