qwertyus wrote:To be fair, I only started following UA softball a little bit 2 years ago when I caught a game on P12 network, but I have not seen a team this dominant. Softball seems to me to be very hit/miss, with teams sometimes getting on a roll, but nobody DOMINATING the space. But this year the Cats aren't just beating teams, they're CRUSHING them. We'll see what happens when Oregon comes to town, but I've got some high hopes for this team. When you've got so much power, it really frees up the rest of the team (at least from my baseball experiences, whenever we were raking, we all felt looser because we know that one run allowed won't kill us).

To be fair, I only played Little League and Seniors (LL, but 15-16 y.o, I wasn't good enough for HS ball, couldn't hit well), so take that suggestion with a grain of salt!
No grain of salt here, Q. You're spot on. With Carranco, Mulipola, Mercado, Harper, Palomino, Mauga, and Statman in the batting order, we have so much power it's just overwhelming. Couple that with O'Toole and McQuillin and it's small wonder we are crushing them. Speed? Got that too. Fielding? Does anyone think Caitlin would let that slip? This team has it all. For a long-time UA softball fan this team is a lot of fun.

Run rule sweep (all 3 games)

Run ruled all 3 games, that's what you do to the bottom team in the league. I just wish the baseball team would've done the same...

Yes, that's exactly what you do to them.

That #11 on Stanford had a nice catch to rob Mauga for a home run though.

Next up for the ladies is a 3 game set @Utah. That won't be a walk in the park as they have a top 25 ranked team this year.

I dunno, but he's been in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Hall of Fame since 1996.

We can't wait to watch the Oregon St. vs. Washington baseball game live tonight instead of the U of A Softball game live.

Thanks PAC 12 Network and Comcast.

The softball game is before the OSU/UW baseball game. Starts at 3 Tucson time.

I have to watch a lot of softball games by streaming, including yesterday's. Would I prefer t.v.? Of course, but streaming isn't all that bad.

Get a chromecast and watch it in Chrome and you can stream it to your tv. Apple has a similar system too. Or hook up a hdmi cord. I'm assuming you have a newer tv of course. You would think people want to see the #1 or 2 team in the country so it would be on tv instead of reruns. Thanks a lot Larry Scott!

They're only 41-2 now, so it's time to jump ship guys.

Anybody watch the game online? Did they show any replays of the play at the plate? I was along the first base side, maybe 10 feet up the line, and it looked like an obvious safe. That call cost us at least 2 runs in the 6th.

Girls lost again 3-2, Utah won the series. We had every opportunity to win and couldn't get it done. We didn't get a single homer this 3 game trip.

Utah scores a run in the bottom of the 7th and they beat the Cats 3-2 and take the series. Hope the players stay focus.

Really rough weekend I feel. Offense was completely devoid of timely hitting. Hitting was pretty absent the whole series honestly. They had some chances today but just couldn't get it done, even with a new lineup today.

Wouldn't of happened if we would have put out the lead runner at second instead of going to first. Spinning like our first baseman did was almost harder to go as her momentum on that groundball took her right to second. Maybe the SS was late covering the bag?

If I'm correctly remembering which play that was, yes, Mo was a bit late getting there. I really wanted that out at 2, but the timing was just a little off.

Would love to see Mauga break the NCAA record. Was not happy when O'Toole had to sit out her first year but now I am extremely happy because every team that has a chance to win it all needs that one dominant pitcher.

How dumb.

One of my favorite poems:

Here lies the grave of Michael Day
who died defending his right or way
His way was right
his will was strong
and he is just as dead as if he had been wrong. Ogden Nash

Losing that 3rd game kinda sucked, but can't win em all and already had the series in hand at least.

I know. I apologize for this tangent: I have P12 with Dish and although I only have the main network, they do an "ok" job of televising good Arizona teams. Sometime's it is so frustrating when they are showing a mediocre Stan vs Cal matchup with we have ranked teams playing at at the same time but that only happens ever so often. I just don't understand why I don't get the regional channels, even when I pay for the upgraded sports packages. Makes not sense why Dish and P12 can't figure that out.

For those folks who "have" to have NFL sunday ticket, I have found that Redzone is just fine for me. NFL sunday ticket is just overkill.

On SlingTV, which is owned by Dish, they carry all six PAC-12 Regional networks on the extras sports package.

One of these days I will set things up to stream content to my t.v. I have been in no hurry because I generally don't watch t.v., only select sports. Meanwhile, to watch UA softball on Pac 12 network, I created a username and password with Dish. When games aren't actually televised on Pac 12 network (and they televise something dumb instead, like Stanford vs. Cal in the above example), I log in on my computer and watch the games streamed.
