You may be right. We have pitching, we have the bats, and the defense is just precision. Very impressive!

Looking over the PAC 12 standings...And it just dawned on me for the first time ever that USC doesn't have a softball team. What gives? Every major college out west or in the south in warm areas has a softball team. It's weird.

I think they decided to invest the scholarships into women's water polo instead. What pisses me off is Colorado doesn't have baseball or softball (the only school to have neither). I know Boulder is not exactly known for having a very warm climate, but hell Utah has both sports and neither is Salt Lake City. I'm curious how Wazzu has baseball, but not softball as well.

The weather in Boulder is just fine for baseball and softball. No excuses there. There's a good chance they use the schollies for skiing.

Ahhh that's right, I forgot their skiing dominance. Does anybody else participate in that sport outside of CU and Denver U? Serious question.

Utah is very serious about skiing too. And the weather here is decent enough for baseball and softball, although I think they have a lot of road trips prior to conference play (like northern baseball schools do). Baseball here is aided by playing in the minor league ballpark in town.

To be fair, I only started following UA softball a little bit 2 years ago when I caught a game on P12 network, but I have not seen a team this dominant. Softball seems to me to be very hit/miss, with teams sometimes getting on a roll, but nobody DOMINATING the space. But this year the Cats aren't just beating teams, they're CRUSHING them. We'll see what happens when Oregon comes to town, but I've got some high hopes for this team. When you've got so much power, it really frees up the rest of the team (at least from my baseball experiences, whenever we were raking, we all felt looser because we know that one run allowed won't kill us).

To be fair, I only played Little League and Seniors (LL, but 15-16 y.o, I wasn't good enough for HS ball, couldn't hit well), so take that suggestion with a grain of salt!
