Interesting comments from Candrea after the last fall game in regards to Meono exceeding expectations and looks like she could start at CF with Palomino moving back to 1B. Sounds like it has much more to do with lack of quality options at first than anything else.

Questions answered from Fall Ball:

- Janelle Meono is your leadoff hitter and starting either in left or center field
- Sharlize Palacios has set herself up to be the starting catcher this year and she has the power to replace Mulipola's missing homeruns (Palacios hit 4 in 8 games)
- Mariah Lopez wasn't allowed to pitch during fall ball, but Alyssa Denham certainly looks like a 1B to her 1A as opposed to just a #2 pitcher. Bowen is probably your best bet as a 3rd pitching option and she also looks like a major possibility at DP with how well she batted this fall.

Questions remaining after fall ball:

-Who starts at 1B? Ivy Davis got majority of the starts, but outside of a couple of homeruns she didn't do much offensively. Looks like either Ivy will start there or Palomino will with Meono playing CF and probably Isabella Dayton playing in LF, but that's TBD.
-Who plays DP? Lots of options, but no clear answer yet
-Can the bottom of the lineup be effective enough in the long term (probably won't find that out until midseason)

2020 schedule is out. Looking forward to the Cats playing Oklahoma at home. They have some really tough road games in conference play, but at least they get to host UCLA.

Current and likely lineup for game 1:

C - Sharlize Palacios
1B - Ivy Davis
2B - Reyna Carranco
3B - Malia Martinez
SS - Jessie Harper
LF - Janelle Meono
CF - Alyssa Palomino
RF - Peanut Martinez
DP - Izzy Pacho

This is the lineup U of A provided d1softball.com and obviously it's subject to change as the season goes on. I could easily see Bella Dayton taking over in RF and Hanah Bowen taking over at DP at some point.

The Cats already chase the Jayhawks starting pitcher. 1-0 bottom of the 1st, two on and nobody out.

Nice to see Harper get her first Homer of the year. Many more to come. Lopez looks like a solid starter.

? nobody said they weren't a good program

any time we're up 3-0, give up the lead and it's tied 3-3, and we win by 1, i'm gonna call that squeaking by. doesn't matter who it's against.

I guess I should of worded it differently. I never meant to insinuate that anybody thought Seattle was a bad team.

Good start today, up 3-0 against Portland St after our half of the 1st, but we give back 2 immediately in the bottom of the inning. Ooof.

Bowen out after portland st ties it up at 3 in the bottom of the 3rd. She wasn't getting the edge of the plate calls she needs and portland just had her number. Denham in.

Bowen gave up a total of 2 runs in 29 innings last year. Took her 3 innings to give up more against what is quite frankly an awful team. Mike has some things to figure out.

I’m hoping Denham’s and Bowen’s struggles are just early season jitters. Denham looks better today. I hope Bowen gets another opportunity in game 2 today to redeem herself.

Tennessee game finally started.

Denham got out of the top of the 1st with no damage, leaving a couple stranded. phew.

Tenn blinks first with an error that leads to a run for us. I'll take it.
Ouch and another error (both by the 2nd basewoman).
And we're up 2-0. I'll take it again :)
Ivy Davis with the first RBI that's earned.

Are you talking about our home games that are not on Pac-12 Network?

You can watch them at http://www.pac-12.com/live/university-arizona-2" target="_blank

I actually forget if that link is for Hi-Corbett games or Hillenbrand games honestly, but if it's Hi-Co games then change that 2 at the end to a 3.
