Not good news as Montaya Lew will miss the season due to a knee injury.

This program just can't catch a break lately.

So, I was watching the football game on the f’ing Pac 12 in the PNW. The entire game, thee Pac 2 network had the score on the women’s game reversed. I was totally bad mouthing Adia (and for that I apologize). Then, I looked at Arizona WBB’s Facebook page saying they’d won. Still…Larry Scott’s ejaculation of a network had the score reversed. Finally, by the time the football game was over, they corrected the score. I don’t know if the Big 12 will be spectacular, but it has to be better than our former conference. I hope the groundskeepers delete that shield from the football field tonight.

I saw that too. Just shook my head when I saw the true score on BDW.

So inept. Good riddance Pac 12 network.

Change is a harsh dislocation, but in this case it's a clear liberation. What Larry Scott put us through was torture in virtually every category of modern fandom. His pathology remains in this fucked up conference, so the sooner we lance the boil and vent the wound the sooner we can build new healthy tissue.

Women lost today, and the same concerning stuff showed its face again. At least it sounded that way on the radio.

Struggling with a zone, letting the other team control tempo... very disappointed after the great start to the game. Then after the game Adia didn't even show up for the post game interview, and the radio guy made it sound like that's common with losses like these? Doesn't sound very professional to me. All of this feels very reminiscent of how things were like with the men before Sean was let go.

It's too bad Conner, Vonleh and Ware transferred. They definitely would of been key contributors for this year, but I am glad to see they are playing well with their new teams.

Madison Conner: 21.9 points per game. 7.3 rebounds per game. 4 assists per game. Shooting 41% from the 3-point line. TCU is 7-0.
Aaronette Vonleh: 16.4 points per game. 5.7 rebounds per game. 1.1 blocks per game. Colorado is 6-1 and ranked #8 in the country.
Lauren Ware: 10.8 points per game. 9.3 rebounds per game. 2.8 blocks per game. Texas A&M is 5-1.

Madison had 41 points tonight for TCU, making 10 threes out of 15 attempts. She was the best shooter for the Cats last year. Very happy to see her flourishing.

Women were routed from tip. They couldn't shoot from three, or shoot much at all, kept turning the ball over, couldn't play defense... you gotta wonder how much longer Adia has if games like this become the norm. Also saw this analysis that sounds like it sums up the situation pretty well:

A few years ago, I watched a Zoom seminar Adia gave to the women's group at my old company. She seemed like a superwoman who had it all.

I wonder if she has over-extended herself, having two kids while running a D1 program, and is a bit burned out? That and the pressure of trying to live up to her team that was a couple inches away from cutting down the nets with a once in a generation player at a school like UofA.

I also wonder if she is telling the players to leave, thinking they aren't giving maximum effort and she can get better, they are leaving because of the culture, or a bit of both?

There's gotta be something unpleasant underlying the departures of so many good players.

Is it the players? Is it Adia? Who knows??

Their non maximum effort seems to be working other places. I just think people see the light that she is not really developing players. Players transferring in get worse and players transferring out flourish.

This year's team is going to have a tough time cracking the top half of the Pac-12 as there are 5 teams ranked in the top-11 and 6 in the top-25.

Also, I still believe in Adia even though so many players have left the program. This program was in such a bad place when she arrived. I hope whatever is going on that is making the players leave is fixed.

Finally, I forgot about Paris Clark, who transferred after last year. She is at Virginia and is averaging 10 points per game.

They've only lost two games, but the bad news is that those are the two lowest-rated of the 14 Top 30 games on our schedule. If anybody's looking for silver linings, we haven't played any of them at home yet, and we'll get 7 cracks at that. The Pac-12 looks tough, and I wouldn't venture a guess as to chances of making the NCAAs.

2 UCLA x2
5 Texas
6 Southern Cal x2
8 Colorado (Home Only)
9 Stanford x2
11 Utah (Home Only)
21 Washington State x2
23 Gonzaga (Phoenix)
27 LOST @ UNLV
30 LOST Mississippi (Bahamas)

For the sake of comparison, here's what the Big XII looks like this year:

10 Baylor
13 Kansas State
33 TCU
36 Texas Tech
42 West Virginia

I was under the impression that Madison left because she thought that Adia recruited over her. Was my impression off-base?? Does anyone have other insights to offer?

Her performance this season has been awesome, and we surely could use her now!

Madison left due to playing time. Her dad went on social media after the loss at Utah last year and made it known he was not happy. Madison did not play in that gave. A week prior, Madison led the Cats in scoring as they beat ranked Oregon. In my opinion, Adia never gave Madison a real chance to play consistent minutes. I am very happy she is doing so well at TCU.

I was sitting behind the bench at the loss at Oregon when Adia pulled her out of the game. Madison was pissed. She said something the the effect, I was just getting warmed up! How can I get into the game if she’s gonna pull me right out.

I too am glad she’s doing well.

TBH, she looked extremely shook after she went down last game. Even after she would have been deemed healthy to return, she was quite emotional on the bench. She came back into the game, but wasn’t at all aggressive. I’m not going to speculate. I just hope we do see her in a UofA uniform again after she takes care of herself. Could use her tonight, to be sure.

Adia Barnes is the 10th highest paid WBB coach in the NCAA. https://frontofficesports.com/who-is-th ... all-coach/

She is also the 4th highest paid UA employee, Lloyd, Fisch, and some chair of the neurosurgeon department ahead of her.

WBB Expenses last FY: $5,345,487
WBB Revenues last FY: $1,767,124

Track and baseball over a million in expenses too. Tennis is nearly there.

As I asked previously, these are definitely legitimate questions.

I empathize with Adia regarding the appropriateness of releasing details during shoot-around access or pregame...

... but I find the timing of Maya's "like" (it appears within 24 hours of Luke's X post? - wouldn't that be yesterday??) to be alarming.

If Maya is truly leaving the program, noted in combination with the other recent departures, then I just don't see how the program is not in a crisis.

This will be both interesting, and likely disturbing...
