Rawle is the one player that puts us over the top every time...other teams might have a wing or two that can compare but we can roll out numerous looks with bigs or small and Rawle can handle 2 through 4 and figure out the weakness of his defender and exploit with all 3 skills...3 pt, drive, or out physical. There really is no answer for him...he is our fat thumb on the scale

Rawle's defensive play was an impact play. His tough minded attitude makes this team difficult to beat. Savage mode means winning time! Love this kid. 8-)

I thought he dislocated it. It was popped back in place, but the x-ray also showed a fracture.

Yeah, it's fractured and dislocated. I can't find any departmental press release, but the Pascoe article confirms:

I'm guessing they'll want to keep it under wraps either way until as close to gametime as possible. No reason to give Xavier an idea if he's going to play.

“It’s fine,” Alkins said.

Sean Miller said Alkins’ finger remains sore, but he has full range of motion.

“He’s able to catch and shoot, do all those things,” Miller said.

Lost on our complete choke job by Miller and the team both, is the fact that once again, snakebitten. We just needed one of those Alkins threes and w a good finger, I bet u he has three makes from deep tonight and would have completely opened up his dribble drive. They knew and they played it right. This was a night where Rawle getts 20

Listen up, Rawle.
Rawle Alkins, Arizona Wildcats
A 6-foot-5 guard, Alkins averaged 10.9 PPG and 4.9 RPG. He is torn about whether to leave or go back to school. The Wildcats have Allonzo Trier coming back and will bring in talented big man DeAndre Ayton. Coach Sean Miller also might get Pittsburgh transfer Cam Johnson, so that could further complicate Alkins' role this coming season. "He needs to go back to school," every single NBA executive interviewed said. One added: "I love how hard he plays, but he doesn't really have a position."
From ESPN. Not linking because they don't really do journalism any more.
'A parent is the one person who is supposed to make their kid think they can do anything. Says they're beautiful even when they're ugly. Thinks they're smart even when they go to Arizona State.' -- Jack Donaghy

Not true.

On a side note the Trier shit needs to stop. He had one game where he went full Iso Zo and of course it was the last game of the season so it's fresh in everybody's mind. His return affected Kobi Simmons and pretty much nobody else for the rest of the season, so let's stop acting like he was a ballhog that killed the team or something.

He also kinda had to do that as the team as a whole was playing like garbage for that game. Anyway, I hope Rawle listens to the feedback and comes back for next year. He could be a real beast.

Even against Xavier, I'm not sure he had a choice. Rawle was way off due to the finger. Parker can't create his own shot. Dusan had a run in the beginning of the second half on the glass, but he and Lauri were struggling to get looks that weren't putbacks all night.

Yeah, Zo took a lot of shots, but who else was doing it that he should have been passing to? If we don't collapse down the stretch, he isn't playing hero ball, he's actually the hero.

Then it makes no sense not to return. Ayton and Zo have big personalities and will no doubt get theirs but Alkins seems like the perfect fit

I think he can do fine in improving stock even if Zo and Ayton take a lot of shots. Rawle's role in the NBA is as a 2 guard who has 3 and D capability. He can flash that next year.

Miller would love to have him as a primary wing who can lock people down in the role of Rondae, Kadeem, etc. The shots will be there, he just has to hit them from distance. His glass work and ability to get to the rim strong are not where the questions are.

Improve ballhandling, improve shooting, continue improvement of defense = Recipes to boost draft stock significantly, which are not impacted by the amount of shots Zo/Ayton get.
