All it takes is one team to like a guy. But 2nd round status is obviously not great. I hope it works out for our guys. It's always a bummer when they drift into obscurity and unemployment within a few years.

A 6-foot-5 guard, Alkins averaged 10.9 PPG and 4.9 RPG. He is torn about whether to leave or go back to school. The Wildcats have Allonzo Trier coming back and will bring in talented big man DeAndre Ayton. Coach Sean Miller also might get Pittsburgh transfer Cam Johnson, so that could further complicate Alkins' role this coming season. "He needs to go back to school," every single NBA executive interviewed said. One added: "I love how hard he plays, but he doesn't really have a position."

Why don't they say D-League, if that's the best place to develop?

I would hope Rawle listens. The whole idea of testing the waters is for that exact process to play out and the player to hear it directly from the people who will make the actual decision.

He needs to work really hard on his defense and keep improving his three-point shooting. His role should be as a strong, long, physical 3&D guy at the next level. He's not there yet and I dont think hes good enough with the ball, or athletic enough to overcome what he lacks in skill, to be anything else barring some massive improvements.

I'd guess because they actually have to give him a spot and pay him in the D League. If they watch him develop in college, they get a free eval. If they like what they see, draft him. If not, don't.

The NBA is all about college for guy they're not 100% on. It's a free season long evaluative process that can save them a draft spot and/or money.

Wasn't Solomon Hill considered a "guy without a position" too? He stayed four...so it's not a good comparison in that way & he was bigger so his tweener status is not an apples to apples comparison either...but man. They remind me of each other in how hard they play & I can't stop coming back to thinking he really should come back & play for Miller for one more year - for him - not for my selfish reasons of wanting him to make a better team. He was my favorite this year & I honestly just want to see him do well. If he gets drafted by the Cavs for instance and gets a role & a chance to learn/grow on a good team - I'd be thrilled for him.

Because in order to control his rights in the G-League, they would have to give him a two-way contract. I doubt the scouts know exactly what GMs want to do with those two extra roster spots yet. But that certainly could be an option.

Yeah, that's it. If an NBA team isn't sold, don't burn a spot. Let him develop in college, see how that goes, then pull the trigger.

Better decision for him is to come back. D league will be there later if he can't improve his ranking. 8-)

Beginning with the 2017-18 season, the NBA Development League (NBA D-League) will be renamed the NBA Gatorade League (NBA G-League) as part of a multiyear expanded partnership announced today by the National Basketball Association (NBA) and Gatorade. This marks the first time a U.S. professional sports league has named an entitlement partner.

It was nbadraft.net, not draftexpress, so anotherwords it's pure garbage and nothing anybody should pay attention to. Comanche is very likely going undrafted.

The wingspan for both Rawle and Kadeem considering their heights are impressive. Rawle's body fat is very bad for his position. Nothing else really sticks out.

Rawle's height is not ideal for a 2, but the wingspan helps. Frankly, Kadeem, Rawle and Kobi all give off the undersized 2 vibe.

Alkins' hands are massive to go along with his impressive wingspan. This is why I was talking about him not being pigeonholed to SG at the next level over on the Scout forums.

Here are all the measurements https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... d=88833405

Few things stand out to me:
Alkins measured 6'2.5" (6'3.75" shoes). A bit smaller than I thought. However, he has massive hands (10" width, which is tied for fourth with a bunch of guys) and has a 6'8.75" wingspan.
Kadeem's no shoes height (6'1") to wingspan (6'9.25") differential is elite.
Kobi also has some mits on him (8.5" length, 9.5" width) for a guard. Hes going to be average size as a comboguard (length, height, weight).

Anigbogu is 6'8.8" w/o shoes and a 7'6.25" wingspan.
Giles' hands are approaching Kawhi Leonard status and has the largest in the draft.

Makes a big difference in a few areas actually. Being able to hold onto the ball driving to the basket, and also important on defense. Kawhi's massive hands allow him to swat balls away from perimeter guys driving.
