Think Kansas will win on Monday. They've just got more ways to hurt you. Only chance UNC has is if Kansas' shooters go cold, and I don't see that happening.

What a nauseating F4.

Totally agree with the nauseousness of the final 4.

Would have been cool to see Duke lose but it wasn't worth the risk of having to watch them win. So... Whatever, I kind of feel the same way about the champ game in regards to Kansas.

Kansas March has to be one of the weakest in history! Arguably the worst 4 seed in the field and then a Nova team down two key players. Then they get an 8 seed in the championship game. You just can’t make this $hit up

How did you do against Houston was it?

Come week 2 all teams left in the tournament are good.

Certainly no slight to the chicken hawks as they are playing and we are watching.

They played well against 10 seed Miami in the regional final and against the loss of two players Nova.

But if you are really being objective, it’s not exactly the juggernaut of marches to the championship. Still no KU fan will care or should they. Just wish one day we could get such a cake walk

Or just have a season where we somehow wind up in the FF, even not being a favorite to get there. UNC and Nova were not expected to get this far.

21 years since our last FF is a really, really tough pill.

No doubt. Elite 8 losses in 03,05,12,14,15 make it just so difficult but in none of those years did we have the cakewalk the chicken jerkers have had

This is how bad it is: sometimes I wonder how many FF losses (ie: appearances) equate to one NC. Are four FF appearances without a title somehow equivalent to one NC? Five? Is there any number of FFs that equals a NC?

I've always thought of a FF berth as its own kind of title, given how freaking hard it is to achieve and how rarely it happens.

Random question...with all the hotels that have been built around campus and downtown, would Tucson get back into the rotation for 1st or 2nd round games?

Every FF team is a Regional Tournment champion - takes four wins to be the best of a 16 team field!!!

FACT: Most of John Wooden’s NC’s involved four games!!!!

Don't tell ucla fans that. It's like taking a baby's candy away.

As much as I dislike Coach K, I've said for years that his accomplishments are actually more impressive than Wooden's, given how much more competitive the sport became in the 1980s.

No coach will ever again get to 13 Final Fours. That's just stupid.

So I researched because I didn't know the requirements. The interesting part for me was the NCAA visits each hotel host and then requires them to sign a contract agreeing to certain services before accepting a city as a subregional host.

So, it seems like it isn't just a question of #, but also whether individual hotels are willing to jump through the hoops to be eligible. Tucson has an interesting dynamic in that March is probably peak season vs many other places where it's off-peak.

With Spring Training moving completely to Phoenix, I wonder if the idea that March is peak tourist season is still true.

I always thought we dropped out because Miller thought it reduced our chances of playing in the west region?

I think if Lloyd is good with it then we will bid once again.

I think it was more, having a subregional close to home. The NCAA usually only has one or two sites nearer than Texas or Kansas, and if one was Tucson, we couldn't play there.

Thanks for the feedback and makes sense. The number of hotel options around campus and downtown has grown exponentially since Tucson and I'd imagine they would check a lot of boxes if they wanted to bid again.
