Exactly. Plus, Lauri can drag Bell out of the lane where he's a terror.

Let me be clear, the refs were not the reason we lost, we were not the better team, but they were horrible.

I think I've spent enough time here that Im understanding the way it works :)

It was painful. Just let them play. Way too many anticipatory whistles.

Do you want them to play at 10 am on Friday? Oregon got the enter game time because they had the 1 seed

Ummm why do they have to start the first game so late? It's not like these kids are in school right now...not during the tourney...hell an hour earlier and maybe one or two east coast people would still be up on a friday...

Lets not fool ourselves, the Pac 12 tournament is completely for the fans and the money machine to pay for Larry Scotts vacation to Vegas every year, it hasn't been about the students since during Lutes days and even then he knew it and complained about it then.

Because of foul trouble, Brooks only played 21 minutes last night against Cal. Over the past two nights, he's played 47 minutes. Lauri has played 61. Trier has played 69 compared to Dorsey's 64.

Walton would say, "Please. Did anyone ever worry whether Dr. J was ready to play?" He's probably right.

The Cats took the loss to the Bruins at home personally.

I'm assuming they felt a little embarrassed about our last game vs Oregon.

I expect a gritty win tonight.

That's always the funny thing about making people talk about things (Alford) and making them justify, out loud, why they did a thing.

Then later on you can come back and say something like 'We wanted to make sure our team had poise' and that's that and the rest of the fan base can laugh it's collective asses off.

Nonsense. It's the exact opposite. If the Cats win, I'll be happy. If they lose (by more than two), the money makes a nice consolation prize to ease the pain. If anything, it's a win-win. The only scenario I would have to worry about it the Cats losing by only one point.

Exactly, it's a hedge.

I'd gladly pay $200 for a Cats win in the PAC tournament final.

And if that doesn't happen, I get a consolation prize which historically I've used to buy all the Cats fans around me as many jello shots as they can take after the loss.

I was channel surfing yesterday and noticed that the Mt West semi-final games was on CBS at 6 or 6:30. I looked it up and it was supposed to be on CBS Sports network. Today, they are playing the Championship game at 4 on CBS. Now, IDK how much conferences are getting paid here but being on CBS at 4 seems like a better deal than ESPN at 9 o'clock. Nobody but diehard Pac12 fans are watching a game at 9 pm. We better being getting paid significantly more for this shitty time slot or else Larry Scott doesn't know what the fuck he is doing.

Feel terrible for him. I take solace in knowing that with all he has overcome to get here it's likely that he'll overcome this as well and still play in the league.

In terms of tonight, few teams could absorb this loss by replacing him with last year's National JUCO player of the year. Still going to take a hell of an effort to beat them.

Crushed for the kid. He has gone through more in his short life than most and to be so close to the dream to have this happen is just not fair. Life rarely is but he has taken his share and then some.

Selfishly, that gives a narrative to not giving us full credit if we win. Like Ball's thumb, it's a tool in the asshole toolbelt. Not that we could have gotten a #1 regardless, but now it is 100%. Also, i fear it might take some mental edge away from us. Not a lot, just some. Thr underdog effect is one we rarely get to test drive.

Oh, and those who harbor fantasies of Lauri being the one who actually comes back in support of his initial comments of wanting to stay 2 or more years? Seriously...I love the kid, but i will kick his ass if he returns unless he can show me financials that convince me he is set for life regardless. First Ray, now Chris...while his knee is still sore from the tweek this weekend? He needs to run to the lottery. A Trier type player stands to gain by returning...substantially. And i love this team and wish we could keep them all. But Zo coming back makes sense. Lauri has to see Chris in streets tonight and think "maybe I can show my love of Arizona with a donation?"

Oregon missed so many wide open 3s and lost their best defensive player before the game...and still had a shot.

Yes. 24 hours after a grueling game, against the press late in the second half, against the BS fouls, etc...etc... Would you feel better if Lauri and PJC hit those 4 FT's? Have to imagine the only reason they missed was fatigue. 3 games in 3 days, and the still cut down the nets. So yes!
