Lavin and Avery just said they match up well with us. That is comical. Their leading scorer might get 40 tonight thought. He will be welcomed by Dalen Terry

Wright State has some talent. But we have more. WSU has played only 7 players, with 9 total bench points. They might be able to hang for a bit, but I'd be shocked if they can hang for 40 minutes. I can see Ballo having a big game, after Tubelis and Koloko ware down WSU's bigs early. One thing we shouldn't do is press much. No need to speed WSU up. And no reason to give up any way buckets.

People on here making jokes about our first round opponent and talking about missing crocs. We better be ready for these guys. I think we could have our hands full if we don't bring our A game.
Normally I agree. I’m the ‘the next game is the most important game’ guy. The eye test tho..just sloppy ball, plenty of garbage buckets, and zero pressure applied from Bryant. Looks like jv ball tbh. With DT in his jock it will be a totally different thing. Course anything can happen but they would need a bonafide miracle.

So does Kerr sit or should we try and get him a few minutes to make up for being off for so long?

If he's available to play, I don't like holding him out and going in cold and trying to do too much vs the 8/9 winner

Let him get some minutes on his ankles

AZ -22.5 at most books. Seems about right. Should be a fun up and down game.

Prop bet, over/under on AZ dunks at 9. What you got

Game time decision. If Kerr can go a few minutes in the first half, he should. If there is any question at all, sit him. If he can go, evaluate at half.

I say sit him. Give Bal a few minutes instead. With his play against UCLA, he's earned them. Good for our future post-Benn too.

It's all about if he's ready. If he's still dealing with heavy inflammation, don't push him. If he seems ready to play without a setback, let him get some limited time off the bench.

You can't predict whether something like another ankle roll will happen, so it's all about whether playing would dial back his recovery or not.

I get the reasoning, but our base starting lineup is the most efficient defensive lineup we have. I never really sweat the theories where teams have to go outside their system to exploit a guy who's a good defender, if a little small.

Someone else already mentioned this but Wright St. watched Kentucky lose today and other high seeds struggle and they're thinking they can win tomorrow. If Wright State can limit Arizona's offensive rebounds and slow them down and make it a half court game I believe they can win. Throw in a mix of man to man and zone defense to keep Arizona off balance. The Wright State guards have the ability to dribble penetrate and hit mid range jumpers which doesn't allow the defense to collapse on the inside. This also negates Arizona's height advantage. If Wright State can dictate tempo it negates Arizona's ability to score easy baskets in transition. Make them play defense in long stretches and score late into the shot clock on back door plays and give and go's. Good guard play is what wins college games especially when it counts most. Wright State has the type of guards that could give us problems. They're patient and take good shots. IMHO this game has all the signs of a classic NCAA tournament upset. I hope I'm wrong but this game seems to have lots of Santa Clara, East Tennessee State, Buffalo vibes.

Tomorrow is one of the few times I'm a big advocate of "do what we do." It's Wright State, guys. With all due respect to what they've accomplished this year, they're not Arizona. If we have an average game tomorrow (on both ends of the floor), we should win comfortably. Even if they have some guy shoot better than he's ever shot in his life, we've already seen that happen recently (Stanford and Colorado)...and we still won. The only way this game is close tomorrow is if they can't miss and we're ice cold. It's even more unlikely given that we don't rely on one or two guys to get all of our points. If Benn's shot isn't falling or CK is in a funk (could happen), we've got plenty of other dudes who can and will step up.

BTFD!
