You mean you don't think Allonzo Trier could have done this with his own DNA?
He would have stood there, looked for the defensive rebound, and then scowled at Brandon Ashley and shook his head while walking away with the L.

Ashley would have a good game defensively (mostly rebounds) and then disappear. I remember Miller saying after a good defensive performance: " Too bad for him because now we know he can do it and we'll expect it from now on." Nuh uh. Neither Brandon or Nick are beyond the G league, right?. What does Zo think of his chances, I wonder?

Likely a bruise from banging knees. If it was ligament damage he would be headed for an MRI

My guess is that if it was MRI-worthy he wouldnt be on the bench. Bad bruise IMO.

I watched the replay several times and it really just looks like banged knees straight on... no twist or bend. It really doesn't appear to be anything serious

That's what I saw too. If he just banged it, I'm sure he'll be fine for UConn. Banging a knee hurts like hell, but it goes away fast.

IMO, rest him anyway. Give him time to recover. We have enough even without Trier to beat UCONN.

He’s fine. I was playing 3rd one time and a runner on 1st tried to stretch a sacrifice bunt into 2 bases. After the put out at 1st, our first baseman with a cannon arm fired a short hop to 3rd to try to get the runner. I whiffed the pick off the short hop and the ball hit directly on the inside of my left knee. It was on par with the most excruciating pain I’ve ever had. Was fine a couple days later tho. That’s exactly what I thought when I saw Zo’s play.

"We'll know tomorrow" means were getting additional diagnostics tonight to rule out badness.
probably nothing, but you want to know that your star doesn't have a meniscal tear, ACL/PCL team, tibial plateau contusion/fracture, etc etc, etc.

It's also a classic Miller comment regarding injury, internal issue, etc. It answers the question without saying anything.

If it is indeed a bone bruise from knees colliding, I had the exact same thing happen to me in high school. I had to stay off it for about a week, and week 2 was light practice in a knee brace. Zo has real professionals taking care of him though, doubt he misses more than the UCONN game.

I mean unless they could get him an MRI between his injury and Miller's presser then that's as good of an answer Sean Miller could possibly give. Kokoskie gave him the initial report of what it looks like, but need that MRI to rule out all the bad juju.

I love Miler's nonanswers on injury topics. I would support him refusing to ever answer a question about a past, present or future injury. That is one area where he should be tight lipped.

I imagine Miler is quite aware of HIPAA and FERPA rules. Surprised he said as much as he did even.

Bone bruises are interesting but usually not very bad. I also had one in high school (in my wrist). They can feel like a fracture (I'd also fractured that wrist 2 years prior). Hurt a lot and felt weak, but there was nothing structurally wrong, and nothing that could cause further damage. I missed one game (throwing arm as QB) but that was it. And given access to top notch medical resources I'm sure I could have returned sooner.
I'd agree with rg that he probably misses UConn but that's it.
Also, when Miller says it's scary, I would guess his felt like a fracture too. I got two separate x-rays to rule that out in my case, but it really felt like one for about a week. I bet one in the knee feels awful too.

I do not think Hipaa and FERPA apply to general comments about athletic injuries.
Personal stuff and the actual records etc are but to say so and so hurt his knee or broke a bone in his foot etc is fine

Would assume by now they've scanned him for a potential fracture or something else. So hearing nothing, I guess we should assume a bruise.

those are lights out numbers and go with a more confident willingness to share the ball, especially with Ayton and Alkins.
of note, he is averaging almost three turnovers a game on the season, which is at least one too many - that needs to get buttoned up.
even over the last six games, all wins, Trier has averaged 2.66 TO's. for Arizona to be a legit FF challenger hes going to have to handle the ball a lot and not turn it over.
Alkins back full time now should alleviate some of that pressure...in fact from my point of view, Alkins - Trier - Ayton forms as good a trio as any other in the nation.
need to hold serve against UCONN and then ASU in Mckale, this is a big swing part in the season for Sean Miller coming into the start of conf play.

No, all of the Gumbys have used up all of their eligibility. Some (Jud for 1) even made it to the NBA.

Allonzo Trier likely to return against UConn despite mild knee sprain
“We’re very fortunate with the way we look at Allonzo, and we had a lot of information today, more than we had (Monday) night after the game. He really has a mild knee sprain. I caution the word mild because he has a little swelling. Part of what caused his discomfort or injury was just the banging or colliding of knees moving at full speed. He has a bruise there as well, and he’s definitely sore.
"We expect him to make a full recovery, and hopefully as we get through the rest of (Tuesday and Wednesday) he will be able to play against UConn. I don’t have (a statement saying) 100 percent is he gonna play or what percent he will be if he does play, but what we’re hoping is he settles in over the next day or two and gets confident in his own mind.
“He has almost full range of motion, which is also a great sign. If what he has in terms of discomfort can subside, he’ll be able to go. I know he wants to. We certainly won’t put him out there unless it’s safe for him, and also good for both him and our team.”
