Yeah doubtful since it's in 4 days. I hadn't heard that he was scheduled to be here.

The schedule is strangely invisible, but he's doing 30+ games this year, 7 of ours plus Pac12 tourney.

BREAKING NEWS! Bill Walton is reporting that McKale fans stand until the other team scores in the second half, too!

Walton is a California resident', so all is cool here.

Being on opiods for decades for pain, Walton knows what he is talking about.

I'm soooo over Walton as an announcer at this time....please ban him....keep him for pre-game, half-time sideshows only....he's also corrupted Pasch IMO....I'm guessing they covered 50% or even less of the actual game last night....ughhhh.

My wife keeps asking:

"Why are they talking about buffalo herds on Catalina island?"

"Why are they talking about Jack London?"

"Why are they talking about caves? Who says, 'I love caves!'"?

I say, if you get rid of Bill Walton, I'm muting my TV and inviting Bill over to sit on the sofa next to me and do his thing.

I still believe in One America, but maybe there should be two audio simulcasts for games: one for those who like Bill Walton, and one for those of you with poor taste.

I 100% agree with this statement. I will gladly keep learning tidbits like how Sean Miller had Reindeer burgers in Finland while recruiting Lauri while enjoying my Cats playing, while the others are told who scored that last point (which you can clearly see with your eyes).

Okay, you hit the most important point. When you're at the game, all you have is the noise of the crowd, your own screaming, and all the nonsense you hear immediately beside, before, and behind you. So what do you want for the audio feed on TV? Steve Kerr aside (who doesn't do it anymore), most color commentary is awful, irrelevant, and distracting. But you can't turn it off because you don't have a public address announcer to tell you who committed the foul.

"But I can't stand Bill Walton!" you object.

For once in your life, be honest with yourself: You can't stand anybody you watch a game with. Ask Chicat what it's like to watch a game with me. He tries to act like Walton is all stale, but there's no way he'd pick me or anybody else over Walton, if Walton were to show up in his living room wearing a duck poncho.

Walton explains the making of a great athlete and includes "partner choice."

Pasch: "I've got something to say about partner choice."

It was odd that their main crew was doing a sub par game like Arizona/Tempe. But its perfect when its a blowout and nobody is really watching to see who wins. Now this crew does make sense for an AZ/Oregon or UCLA game. However, those games are close, intense, no need to ramble on. I am surprised more channels/companies dont offer home and away feeds. The National Championship game had that option but only on their web ESPN 3. Since we have a pac-12 az channel, it should have the home announcers and not random guys who have no clue about the team.

Many times I have watched a game (mostly on FS1) and I had to turn off the volume and listen to the radio or pull up a radio stream. I will take Walton's ramblings over FS1's obvious trolling of AZ games any day (full disclosure, I dont like FS1 but most games on that channel are similar to how ESPN approached the baseball team's CWS run. Obviously against AZ. Either for ratings or personal reasons).

Sigh. What fan doesn't think "they hate us"?

Raftery hates us. And Miller still likes him (traitor).

Its the pumping up and getting excited when Arizona loses. Similar to how FS1 approached the game again OSU a few years ago and cheering for them. I get tired of the cheering and getting excited for the other team while a play by the Cats is treated as just another day. Personal opinion.

Bill just rambles. Its annoying during close games but he grew on me and now I love it. Get him and Gus together for a game. That might be magic.

They all get excited by upsets, regardless of who the victim is. It's Man Bites Dog.

The Gary Payton thing was bad, granted.

There's no need to show him. He isn't a spectacle. He's stationary and talking into a microphone.

Where is the "Ban Dr. No" petition?

Diz, Pee Wee, Willie Mays, Frank Robinson, Philippe Alou, Orlanda Cepeda. What else do you want?

Anecdote from YouTube:
Dizzy was the most colorful commentator of all. And he used to sing Wabash Cannonball. One day two lovers were in the stands kissing. He's kissing her on the strikes and she is kissing him on the balls. Said Dizzy, oh Pee Wee. Don't tell me about Vin Scully.

I'd like to see Walton try to get away with that one.

Why does he toe the company line. For a guy as outspoken as Walton you would think he could defend or have a contrary take on the investigation and our involvement

I like him for the slow and boring blowout games. Not the close ones but then again i don't really pay attention to commentators during crunch time unless they dont stfu like Vitale or are great.
