I'm even reading that the "bubble" could be a shutdown college campus. I mean, good luck selling that to the community and the students' families. Imagine UofA saying to Tucson, "So, all classes and non-essential campus operations are suspended until further notice, and we're instead going to have only student-athletes on campus, quarantining, so they can play their seasons."
Start the petition to do it at Kansas. Lawrence is about as much the middle of nowhere as I can think of.
True. Maybe it would be an easier sell in a Lawrence or Lexington, where the sports matter much more than the actual college classes anyway.

On the Wildcat Country podcast Jeff Dean suggests Williams is going to be playing this year for U of A. Dean is the PA at Arizona Stadium and McKale, Tucaon radio host and occasionally part of the radio broadcast for away games.

Would be pretty surprising at this point. But it has always struck me as odd how quick folks on here were to write him off, even when his recovery was going so well.

Murphy reports the Tubelis twins are on campus, so all 13 scholarship players are on campus.

No BWill, so guess that answers that question.

BWill is still on the team.

How is that looking for scholarships if BWill can pass the physical? Take one from the lesser Tubelis?

He is on scholarship. Someone besides him will have to pay.

I can't imagine that will bode well for team chemistry, especially if it is the lesser Tubelis that gets his scholarship pulled.

Especially since the odds of BWill completing the season without injury maybe 10%.

Is there a date that all players need to be on campus?

I doubt that PA guy is truly in the know but here's 8/19 podcast with Jeff Dean. BWill talk at 1:05(nothing we did't know): https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/w ... 1528595220" target="_blank

That's my understanding too. BWill is still working out in SoCal,but still officially on the team. Forgot the source, maybe Scheer.

Yep, hence immediate eligibility (if we’re playing in November/December).

Larry Scott and the School President and Chancellors better get off their ass and meet right away. The conference cannot have every other conference except the Ivy league play basketball starting the end of November while the PAC-12 does not.

Game 1 rotation?

Akinjo/Kriisa
Baker/Brown
Mathurin/Terry
Tubelis/Lee
Brown/Koloko

Batcho/Gorener garbage minutes?

Assuming no BWill miracle but we would have a log jam at PG. We would have 3 PGs that could start for any D1 school

Only if he is willing to share the rock with Kerr, and Jemarl too. Some interesting comments below. Hopefully he has matured since his Georgetown days. If not, plenty of room on the bench.

Terrell Brown too wants the ball, 545 field goal attempts last season. In contrast, the most attempts by a UA player last season was 367 by Nico.

One ball, 200 minutes per game. A team of no superstars, just a bunch of guards who all want the ball.

I would give Williams 20 minutes of baker/brown minutes without hesitation. They can fight it out for whatever minutes remain at the 2/3

I suppose the logic of this is that if these are all the very first kickoff events, they're the laboratory to "see how it goes" before proceeding to the rest of the season, perhaps with fans, on the campuses. And it usually makes sense to follow the money. I'm sure an empty MSG would like relief for what they have to put up in guarantees, or to be let off the hook altogether. So maybe many or all of the originally scheduled sites for the early season games just wanted to cancel. This way, the schools and NCAA get the TV money for games at the neutral Orlando sites with the existing business tie-in to ESPN/Disney.

This is fantastic. We get to play in the NBA bubble environment with their baked in COVID experience and top notch A/V production. And there's a chance we find games among schools outside of our NIT tournament to play? Love it.

This is my favorite part of the season where we know the roster but we're several weeks away and I have several drinks and I say to myself stuff like "we've got something special with this team."
